Newcastle
Warriors - Yes crazy but I think Manly will struggle with consistency! They'll be world beaters sometimes and other times typical Manly from the last few years.
Penrith
St George
Cronulla
Canberra - Think the hype will get to them (Brisbane)... They played a pathetic Roosters side who didn't seem to try while Canberra were quiet impressive.
Wests
Dogs game is at 6.15pm BTW

Dylan Brown coming to Newy on one of the most absurd contracts ever seen.

I get it but ehhh.
So Brown plays 7???
Sharpe looked really good at 6.

Yep, not sold on that but the money he’s being given, he’ll have to be the 7.

I really like Sharpe, I hope we persist there.

From a cap point of view, Hastings ($800k) and Brailey ($600k) come off the books next year so he easily fits in there.

He'll really have to develop a kicking game though.

I like that we're at least making a splash. Zero point in continuing to do what we've done recently.

I always prefer a team having a crack (my Saints had a huge swing at Callaghan for example) and i guess hes only going to be 25 by the time this starts (still young for any half) that just really is a big chunk of coin for a guy who has never really elevated in the many long absences Moses has had.

How old was Moses when he went to Parra?

Can only hope a change of scenery and some more maturing and we get the best of him.

Tell you one thing, it's completely ruined the halves market. Both Parra and Manly (when DCE retires) will be in the market shortly, be interesting to see who's targeted.

22/23?

Halves do tend to take a while to really get going (with the exception of Cleary).

Brown seems to have the running and passing game, his kicking is lacklustre at best but as you said he might mature and hell obviously have Ponga to help really as a third half too.

Theres very very few elite level ones as well and thats before you take into account that Brisbane will need to be looking with Reynolds and Hunt both old as ****

The kicking is the big concern for me as Sharpe (nor Ponga) has no kicking game either. Can try and develop one but that's one hell of a gamble on that size contract.

Yep, this is another reason I'm coming to terms with it.

I'd obviously prefer a Moses type but the chances of getting one is non existent.

I think Browns grubber, line kicking isnt too bad (which is usually the case with running halves) but yeh none of those boys has bombs or depth kicking.

I actually dont hate the decision, youd rather have a swing and miss than just constantly be making up the numbers.

With Best, Ponga and now Brown, slap together some old and young lads for a pack to get some metres and you can make something off it. Maybe hope some other talented winger ****s up and you can get them cheapish (May anyone)?

Moses was a Parra junior who went to tigers to play in NYC competition and then had 3.5 seasons there before switching because Ivan Cleary didn’t want him.

Absolutely not May. May should not allowed to be registered. I'm happy to discuss more in a PM about that but I won't publicly write why.

Betting Dom Young wishes he'd stayed now.

Probably hoping Nathan would've jumped ship had he stayed there.

No FWIW I agree, what i know of that case its an absolute disgrace hes being welcomed back, unfortunately someone almost certainly will take him.
