Bulldogs recruitment has been bad.

3. Crichton
4. Burton

6. Galvin
7. Sexton
9. Mahoney

If they had that side this year they'd be Top 4.. they won't even make the 8 with what they ran with.

Can't keep them all. That much salary tied up there causes an issue with their forward pack...which they still have regardless.

They'd absolutely be hoping to beat the Dragons. The Dragons have been appalling to start the year.

Flanno essentially said he couldn't win the comp and didn't have the cattle in a couple pre season interviews.. not a way to get a footy side to play for ya.

Absolutely agree, I said that at the time. The head coach gave them an excuse straight out of the gate. There's a reason you don't see that at all.

They already had a 6.. shouldn't have bought Galvin if they couldn't keep a halfback.
I don't disagree, I really don't rate Galvin at all. They've been hoodwinked there I feel.

If he was 30 playing the footy he was at the Tigers he would have got zero hype, he only got the hype because he was 19, I totally agree I don't think his anything special.

He seems to have a ego Flanno, brings up the Sharks premiership win alot..
Yep. I've always felt he comes with an arrogance that rubs a lot of people up the wrong way.

I'm not surprised he's struggling there.

I thought he looked promising if not world beating but also being 19 (and most of the great halfbacks agree) he wasnt going to explode into a superstar in a year or 2 its more like 6-7 years at that age.

The bigger issue to me is that they keep trying to tweak the team to suit him rather than trying to work him into the teams strengths. It might just all be really incompatible.

Galvin gets a lot more hate than he deserves. I agree he has been underwhelming, and not what we wanted, but he hasn't been the liability people suggest. He is the sort that needs confidence and I feel that when it clicks it could come in a big way.

That was a great game from him and hopefully a big confidence boost.

To read the narrative you’d think he’s played ‘bad.’

I don’t think he has at all I just think that when he doesn’t play out of his skin he cops the wrap that he’s been terrible. Hynes gets it as well at times, Cleary gets it at rep level.

On the game tonight - well **** I didn’t see that coming. I know the dogs have played some good footy at times the last few years but I didn’t think they had that in them.

Chuffed with that win Doggies! Especially without Critta.

Penrith were nowhere near it for 60 minutes, but that's in large part due to the pressure the Dogs put on them defensively.

It was Galvin's best game for the club by a long way. Still don't think he's a 7 long term, but he managed the game tonight pretty well. The big fellas got stuck in too.

The hope is he's the long term 6 and Woods the 7. Where that leaves Burton I'm not sure, left centre maybe.
