The National Rugby League has refused to register a three-year contract between Melbourne winger Steve Turner and his club. It means the 21-year-old Turner will be playing for the Gold Coast Titans next year unless he decides to sit out the next three seasons.

Gold Coast boss Michael Searle says the NRL's decision vindicates the Titans' hardline position on Turner, who agreed to join the fledgling club in June before having a change of heart and re-signing with the Storm.
Kinda interesting.

it doesnt work that way. binding agreements arent formed solely by signing a piece of paper. there are a variety of ways to form a binding agreement, including wholly oraly. all combinations have equal effect.

LD, are you a lawyer? If not, I suggest you don't give tips as there is probably alot that we don't know and probably some obscure part of the law that the Storm could cite. ;)

It doesn't look good for the storm, as much as some people who post on this board fail to understand.

I reckon that the NRL and Titans could win this but it never should have got to this, had the crap management at the titans signed him up and the time there would be no need for this.

At least Carlton aren't toying with my emotions. Never a finals chance. The Sharks problem is bizarre. Get to 2nd on the ladder and lose 8 straight once Kimmorley and Dykes team up again. Go figure.

I always fall back on the Brisbane teams to support when my teams stuff up.

Yeh it's just bizarre with the Sharks. I mean, they've got the roster, the ability, the facilities and Raper isn't a bad coach when he's on his day. Ah well, next year Ross will be back and players like Hannay and Fraser Anderson will be joining the team.

This smells rather badly like a "lets help establish the new boys at all costs" decision by the NRL.

Pity it's at the expense of a young bloke's career. What a feckin disgrace.

It's very simple.

They can win with Kimmorley, and they can win with Dykes, but they can't win with both of them.
