From Peter Turnbull’s match report in the NTNEWs 19671009 :

“Match was played in blistering heat”

On Collingwood:

"their handball was contructive and effective and they always had a man going past"

“Collingwood won because though they were 15 points behind they were able to use their experience to increase pressure in the third quarter”

“Their big men held their marks and used long raking kicks to advantage”

“Collingwood told by their coach that they needed eight goals in the third quarter and they certainly looked more determined” (6.1 to 1.2 for this quarter)

On the NTFL

"Thompson was by no means having his own way with big Peter Davis, and the rovers Gympie lew fatt, Don stokes
and Jimmy Anderson playing like men inspired"

"Their pace at times was breathtaking, and, they had matched the Magpies in every department even in the air"
