Anyone reckon that North can avoid winning the wooden spoon? They have stiff competition from Freo, Adelaide, St.Kilda and west coast

But of all those teams Nth has shown that they are least likely to improve.

North will avoid the wooden spoon i reckon they have two many good players to finish bottom. Despite the Dockers improving i still think they will finish bottom.

North will avoid the spoon but they are at the crossroads. They are teetering between top eight and bottom four right now. People with long memories are thinking that North are still a strong physical team while the pessimists know that all things come to an end. Still too early to tell but another loss will almost seal their fate.

Any team with the King doesnt not and will not finish last.

Put simply the Roos have far too much talent around the ground to finish down the bottom of the ladder.

In my opinion its still the eagles for the spoon followed closey by the Crows.

Sorry sabre, but your comments on the eagles and crows cannot be taken seriously. You are after all a freo fan, the team at the bottom of the ladder with a 0-4 record(prob 0-5 after todays game).

Nth do have talent, but do they rely too much on McKernan and Carey to kick their goals? And for Martyn and Archer to be their defense? They are in the exact same position as the eagles, in the middle of transferring the teams responsibilities from their 90's brigade to their youngsters. Hence, they will be out of the top8 for 2-3 seasons.

North aren't quite the force they have been, but they definitely won't take the Wooden Spoon. (Happy Michelle???).

At the rate they are going, they may just miss the finals (swapping 9th with the Tigers?), and it looks like they will hover around that position for the next year or two as they rebuild the team.

It will be interesting to see what happens to them when Carey hangs up his boots...

They'll undoubtedly lose a few matches, but the team will probably be a lot more popular!!!
haha.
(Take it easy Michelle....!)

Can't see why you would think Crows are candidates for the spoon. 2-3 from the first five is as good a start as Crows have had in quite some years, even 97 and 98 weren't as good a start as this year. Crows even went within a whisker of being 3-2. Crows started the season with about six first-choice players unavailable, and only now are starting to put a more complete side on the field. Crows started 0-5 last year, which was a poor year, and still won 9 games in all and finished 11th.

West Coast too are doing OK at this point, better anyway than I thought they might do. They seem less likely for the spoon than Kangaroos.

Saints and Roos aren't too flash at the moment. Maybe they will improve. But the out-and-out favourites for the spoon at this stage would have to be Freo.

PS- what the hell does the phrase: "doesnt not and will not finish last" mean?

Now is the perfect time to put some dosh on the 'Roos making the top 8. They haven't got a snowflakes chance in hell of getting the wooden spoon.

I nearly agreed with you on another topic, I thought no way I could ever agree with Dan24/25 but yes it has happened. When we make the finals we will finnish 5,6,7 or 8 playing against eachother so from where im sitting it makes no real difference. Apart from the possible interstate trip to play Port in the second week.

I don't think North will get the wooden spoon, its between the Saints, Eagles, Freo and Adelaide, and right from the start I have said I doubt the Eagles will get it. They can play well but can play shocking also. I won't even tip it, as it is too far from the end of the season.
