If we forget about the last half of the 98 GF we went back to back.:(

However your observation is a reasonable one given that we have lost to Carlton (should have won) and Hawthorn where we were ****e all day and could have pinched it.

I still reckon we are not playing anywhere near what we are capable of. Must win tomorrow and the week after.

Simply must.

And the two sides we lost to are the only decent sides we have played in that time. I'm not even convinced about Hawthorn yet.

Can't read too much into wins against Fremantle (crap), Bulldogs (inconsistent), Port (soft), St.Kilda (crap) and Collingwood (not quite there yet IMHO).

Such is the low standard of most teams, that the only wins that indicate anything are against Essendon, Carlton, Brisbane (even they suck in Melbourne), Sydney at the SCG and Adelaide and Port at Footy Park, and we lost all of those (except for not playing Port there)!

If we win against Melbourne and the Perth Parrots over the next fortnight, we would be 8-7 and probably in the 8. The Essendon game shapes as the most important of all, as it could either give us confidence if we put up a good show, or shatter whatever confidence the last 6-8 weeks have gained if we get belted.

Gotta agree with Groucho,

The next 2 weeks are must wins....
Essendon let's wait and see.
They have been belting everyone lately.
There is nothing better than seeing Essendon lose.
Not only the players , it is probably more enjoyable to see
thier supporters in panic mode.

One week at a time , one week at a time

Yes, but you are also overlooking one statistic which has been a problem for us.....look at the points against.....it points to a tightening of the backline = game plan has changed because of the absence of Carey.

True, but the points against might also be because the sides we have played in the last 6 weeks are CRAP! :p

Your point is proven, though, because while we were beaten by Hawthorn and Carlton, it was because WE fell down up forward, while the defenders restricted their opponents well enough to keep them to respectable totals.
