I'd imagine they'll give it the same treatment Brisbane gave Jonathon Brown's #16 jumper: rest it for a year, and then give it to a youngster who doesn't play in the same position as him (Jansen) to prevent any unfair comparisons.

I say give it to one of our draft picks that year. Not targeting any player in particular: just use the usual strategy of the lowest available number for the earlier pick in the draft.

Retire it for a year, definitely. Alot of the supporters will be in 'mourning' and having a 29 too soon isn't a good idea. Funny how only two players have ever worn the number since established. Wira and Pav.

I'd also like to see the no29 being a number become associated with Fremantle - could even incorporate a small inconspicuous '29' into our jumper design.
Pav has done more for Freo than any future player will be able to. As he said, the club grew up with him - he helped define The FFC.
