When I think back on great Saints with these numbers, for 3 there is no shortage of good players, from Rosewarne, Smith, Duperouzel etc, but they were all rovers. 8 I think of Alan Morrow and Glen Elliott, and thats it. 16 of course my all time favourite Saint, Verdon Howell. With 18 its gotta be Cowboy. 20 Jimmy Ross, Payze, and Armo. 27 Peter Bennett. Can anyone think of players who have worn the other empty numbers?
Ahh yes those were the days my friends ,what a list of memories .Heres what an old Master Strokesman remembers
3 Nathan Burke Xavier Clarke
8 Jeff Dunne
16 Jack Newnes lol
18 Brendan Goddard, Billy Longer (Hello his secret admirer Moorabbin Ghost)
20 Mick Dwyer
27 Jason Blake
Just on 32,there was an Irish’s guy we recruited, he was supper strong for Wee little fella, might have had 32.
Dermott McNichol maybe ??
My head is hurting now with All this thinking.

32 - McQualter , Traianidis ? 32 - Forever unclean
Wow, 32 is a shocking number:

1967: Ted Schwarzman
1968: Gary Wallis and Gary Colling
1969: Glenn Elliott
1970: Stephen Rae
1971: John Stephens
1975 - 1980: Robbie Muir
1980: Peter Fitzpatrick
1981: Stephen Roach
1982: Con Gorozidis
1984: Robbie Muir (again)
1985: Robert Keeble
1986 - 1987: Andrew Jobling
1990: Grant Lawrie
1992 - 1995: John Georgiou
1996 - 2001: Jason Traianidis
2002 - 2004: Josh Houlihan
2005 - 2011: Andrew McQualter
2012 - 2014: Terry Milera
2015 - 2019: Paddy McCartin

Who had the best career in 32? Poor Paddy, he never had a chance.

I remember when there was discussion of Paddy moving to a more desirable number but he said he'd prefer to make the number 32 his own.

Sadly it looks like 32 made Paddy its own instead. Burn it, along with the accursed number 10.

Could see Clav or Hind wanting to change numbers but reckon the new acquisitions will get first crack, which probably wont leave much.
Maybe 31 for Clav? and 27 for Hind?

Bobby Muir. The best by a fair margin. What a tragic waste of talent. In today's environment he would've been a star, Cyril or Burgoyne like.

Have to agree with Drake Huggins here. Robbie Muir played over 60 games in 32. Cant see anyone else that played a lot of games in 32.

He would have been rubbed out for nearly that many games too!

I’m out of thread. I’m overseas till Chrissy see you then. May be temporary, depending on when the numbers are announced.
