Okay lots of players coming in and players moving out or retiring. In saying that some pretty big numbers up for grabs in particular the below:
#3
#8
#18
#20
#27

Also still unsure of #22 Brown and #16 Newnes if they will be retained on the list.

Looking at the existing players, there could be potential for some to move to lower numbers.

I'd like to see Battle get the #18 and play forward.

Thoughts and predictions

MY preferences:
3 Howard, with the big dogs in the back line
8 Hill with new midfield buds Ross, Dunstan, Steele, Hannebury, and Clark, plus he was 10 at the Hawks and 9 at the Dockers, so it makes sense.
18 Ryder, next to Rowan
20 Jones, why not
27 Butler, be good to see a crafty crumber kicking many goals in Breen's old number again.

With the trade window closed (and not much in the way of top end draft picks) I want to start speculating on my favorite part of the off season: NEW JUMPER NUMBERS!

Traditionally the club hasn't released these until about round 4 of the regular season so we have plenty of time to guess. We still have some delistings to happen with some of Newnes, Brown, White and Rice to come off the senior list to make way for Biggy, Wilkie and Joyce so feel free to speculate :)

Available numbers: 3, 8, 16, 18, 20, 27, 31, 32, 37 + 41

New players: Brad Hill, Paddy Ryder, Dougal Howard, Dan Butler + Zak Jones.

Who gets what? Any possible upgrades?

My current prediction is along with 3, 8, 18, 20, 27 & 42, the numbers 16, 22, 31 & 37 will also become available.

3 - Hill
8 - Butler (his insta profile is danbutler_8)
16 - Howard
18 - Ryder
20 - Jones
22 - draft pick 1
27 - Mayo
31 - draft pick 2
37 - rookie pick 1
42 - vacant

3 - Bytel - something about him screams number 3
8 - Hill - was 10, then 9, being 8 just fits
18 - Ryder
20 - Butler
23 - Howard - 23 is a talls number
27 - Jones - good friends with Membrey so feel like they would like their lockers next to each other.

Ok so -
3 - Wilkie
8 - Hill
18- Jones
20- Parker
27 - Howard
31 - Ryder
37- Butler

23 - already Bytel , lets see how he goes before he gets a better number .

Recent highlights for number picks:
22 to 4 - Gresham (proud of this one, was first in)
1 - Coffield
11 - Clark
12 - King (my favourite player number choice, some players are scared of a number’s legacy, King “I want 12”)

2019:
3 - Hill
8 - Howard
16 - Wilkie
18 - Jones
20 - Ryder
22 - Butler

I like the idea of a small crumber wearing 44 again, but that's a heavy cross. And Butler was never a saints rookie and surely that disqualifies him!

Anyway, Wilkie is making that number his own pretty rapidly. Funny that the last 3 rookies in 44 have made it to the seniors. Mav might not have ended well with us, but he did go pretty good before he did that photo shoot with all the candles! Wilkie's an accountant so I doubt he'll get as carried away.

Gresham wore 4 right through juniors and coveted it as soon as he arrived at St Kilda, settling in year 1 for 22 (2+2=4). A McCartin Coleman Medal is a better chance than Gresham giving up 4.

Hannebery to 11 and Gresh stays 4.
