as per the Bell and Garlick radio interviews, this is being driven by the playing group.
Along the lines of, when things are unsure, or stormy, you through out the anchor for safety.

Will see if I can find the interviews.
 
Freddy makes alot of sense in the 32, happy with that

unhappy that I own a couple of 43s of his, this is like when Lukey Ryan burnt me with his 38 switch

Seems we were all pretty close with the guesses
 
Also guys wondering about the anchor

I think its going to be the 3d anchor this year

it came second in a poll back in 2019 to the green away, naturally it is next in line to be used, I am bloody excited for it

Should do a re-brand. Fremantle Dolphins - everybody likes dolphins. Or perhaps the Stingrays

The Dockers was a silly choice for a name. We call em wharfies over here and everyone thinks they are bludgers.

Keep the current jumber. Love the purple and chevrons.
 
Can we read anything into Johnson taking 44?

I feel like he has a point to prove and number 44 just adds fuel to his fire as a constant reminder of being overlooked night one!

Seems way too high. Maybe waiting to claim Walters or Mundy's when they retire. Crowden has his Subi number 12 so maybe he's hovering like a Vulture 😁.

He wears 44 a little bit in the highlights, and a lot of people were posting stuff like "#44 monsoon" on his instagram just after he got drafted.

So seems like there was already a link there to the number.

I remember hating the 3d anchor at the time. You better believe I will buy all the gear if we wear it this year though.
