Caro said NWM had been telling people at St Kilda about the reason, so you have to assume it came from there. She never mentioned Port as a possible source. She has also mentioned Indigenous leaders in SA, especially when it came to portraying Walker as the victim in the Gather Round footy show.

What I have heard after doing some digging whether its 100% true I don't know but does makes a bit of sense is that you will find its is true that Nwm said this and that Caro's source is NOT anyone from Port but someone high up at St.kilda. Think list management and this guy who was a pretty good defender in his playing days has history of spilling beans think the Houston situation last year.

SOS

FWIW Caro has a pretty solid track record although I don't watch any footy shows and haven't for several years.

I’m sick to death of people undermining shit acts like making racist remarks, cheating on your partner, etc by labelling it a “mistake”. If you intended to do something it can’t be a mistake.

Reminds me of the quote from The Last Boy Scout starring Bruce Willis

  • Mike Mathews: It just happened, Joe. It...
  • Joe Hallenbeck: Sure, sure, I know... it just happened. Coulda happened to anybody. It was an accident, right? You tripped, slipped on the floor and accidentally stuck your dick in my wife. "Whoops! I'm so sorry, Mrs. H. I guess this just isn't my week."

Much underrated. Tony Scott had a knack for these wild action films with humour. And Bruce just wore those roles like a bespoke suit.

My favourite joke is why did Mr Milo cross the road. He was really suited to those roles you are so right. A real shame his health has deteriorated.

Most likely source to me is Ross Lyon.

Was on footy classified for years. Is a great friend of Caro. Benefits Saints knocking out one competitor and driving a potential divide between NWM/Media attention/Adelaide in general.

Makes the clear most sense to me.

Or, simply Ross did hear it at training from NWM and passed the info onto his good friend.

Not the first movie to do it well but its success is credited as one of the new wave of genre action comedy (lethal weapon as well) films that formed what we know as action movies today.

Nearly Every blockbuster action film now is a variation of last Boy Scout / lethal weapon imo. Wise cracking , world weary protag, buddy movie with action set pieces. Chris Hemsworth prob owes his career to this genre lol.

Tex , laird, Smith and co , stack of overpaid old guys on way out and they are underpaying guys like Thilthorpe , Rachelle etc at the moment under older contracts.
Doesn’t Rankine come out of his already crazy high contract soon? Dawson is also still on his original trade deal too I think

Rankine seems like the kind of bloke whose arrogance means he’d expect at least what NWM would be on while Dawson probably actually deserves something close …

From memory;
Dawson next year, Rankine the year after, Thilthorpe the year after that.

Rankine and Dawson are both better players so should be on more, but thats the cost of recruitment.
