Im also a believer of that policy FSS. Just thought it was an unfortunate outcome of a reckless act from a player i have alot of respect for.

Apparently the video review said the impact wasnt significant enough to deserve suspension. The xray that shows the fracture suggests otherwise. Thats the part of it all i find farcical.

What quarter and approximate time in the quarter did it happen?

Can play with the big blokes but cant cop one from a big bloke?? Is this what your saying mcgayver? Was probably going to happen sooner or later, gun young kid half the size of most of the guys on the park. Motor must have picked his time well

Old fashioned and outdated view. No one deserves a broken jaw no matter their age

Schultz played 2nds today for Albury, is that his first game for the year?
Yes it is. If he can get fit and his knee holds up Albury could win a Grand Final by a record margin with a record number of ex AFL players on the paddock - Schulz, O'Hailpins X 2, Polo, Hyde, Cross.

I've watched the vision. 2nd quarter around the 3 min mark. Barnes lays a great shepherd in my eyes, but his shoulder probably makes contact with the wang blokes head which is where the broken jaw comes from I'm guessing. Should it have been heard at the tribunal? Probably. under a rough conduct charge. would they have suspended him? In my opinion probably not as the vision isn't super clear.

Mellington as well. So Schultz should be playing 1s soon? Or a few weeks in the reserves first?

5 games to go and things seemed to go as expected on Saturday.
Raiders beat Corowa by over 100 points but Corowa have lost 6 of their last 7 games by a similar margin and only got close to Wodonga in that time so wouldn't read too much into it.
Wodonga did well against Yarrawonga in the first half and while the score was close up to 3/4 time it masked the fact the Dogs should have done better. With Ednie off injured and 2 guns sent off the ground at the same time in the 3rd quarter Wodonga only kicked 2 goals in the second half. Missed a big chance.
Lavington and Wang looked a beauty until half time but Wang unbelievably only had one scoring shot in the second half. It looks like Newtons absence with injury for 8 or 9 weeks will be the difference in them sneaking into the 5 as he has been pretty good on his return.
Myrtleford have got closer than anyone to Albury now. How often can they play with the same list? How many play VFL? If they could play Albury in the Grand a Final in Myrtleford on a wet day in July I might pick the Saints.
Wang Rovers might have put a nail in Aker's coffin.
I think the 5 is set and don't think the top 3 will change. All eyes on who gets the coveted second spot now.

Went and watched Yarra vs Wodonga. Wodonga missed several extremely gettable shots in the 3rd quarter. Barnes looks injured on top of Ednie to me. See both Yarra boys fighting charges- couldn't see the Bayles incident but O'Connors was right in front of me. IMO he should have taken the two. Reckon he will go big time. Myrtleford play those conditions extremely well, remember Albury have the best player in the league to come back plus others. I would be more than happy to have a $1 with you Fruit regardless of how many VFL players they get back if they make the big dance, rain, hail or shine the Tiges will win it by a minimum of 12 goals.

I agree with you on the result magnets. 12 goals may be a little thin though. 20 goals for mine.

Your mail was correct. He has been resigned for one year according to the Border Mail site.

Interesting 1 year extension. If they are happy enough with his direction and overall coaching why not secure him for the 3 he wanted? If they don't think he will be there long term are they just buying themselves 12 months to find the perfect replacement?

What im saying is that this forum is here to express our opinions.. Am i not entitled to mine?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but people shouldn't be surprised when people take exception the their opinion that a kid should expect to get his jaw broken if he is playing against men

Firstly, im not saying he deserved it and second, go and ask some of th blokes from an earlier era and see if they complain about the treatment they got, whether it be 10 goals kicked on them or a broken nose from having a blue.. This is my point. When it comes down to it all the coach should know if a young fella is worth putting in the side and if he is capable of copping the knocks and bumps (intentional or not). I honestly think that as much of a good kid he is, his frame isnt ready for senior football.. My opinion once again.. (So feel free to pick at my diagnosis)
