Derek Carr (leg) has reportedly avoided ligament damage.

That's according to his brother, David. Carr is an extremely long-shot to return for a theoretical Super Bowl appearance, but should be 100 percent for the Raiders' offseason program.

Fingers crossed. McGloin only really has to come in and play his role and the offence should run fairly smoothly. Hopefully our defence of the recent past and the last matchup with the Broncos shows up. Could really do with a week off next weekend looking at our injury report.
Cooper, Crabtree, Holmes, McGee, Osemele, Jalen Richard, Riley Jr, and Smith listed as questionable. Only Joseph is doubtful but we've still got some banged up guys headed into the post-season and a bye would be most welcoming.

We signed a backup/backup/backup QB that I have never heard of. What about Timmy Tebow? We need the prayers.
Gilbert has spent at least 1 off-season that I know of with the Raiders. Can't really sign anyone off the street. Need an arm for some backup reps.

Connor Cook will start this week. Been confirmed through multiple guys of mine with the Raiders. Initially the plan was to start McGloin but when they reviewed the tape, Cook stood out. One big supporter of Cook is Amari Cooper, who was absolutely livid with Matt McGloin when he overthrew him on the TD, and then put the blame initially on Cooper in his post-game presser.

Mcgloin was terrible. Cook seems to have more ability but is probably going to throw INTs, but is more likely to throw a TD as well. His one overthrow for the INT against the Broncos is going to come with the territory I think. Mcgloin looked like a deer in the headlights.

They'll be making sure Cook protects the ball when he starts to scramble around in the pocket. I can live with the overthrow because he made the right read. McGloin might have the nous but he doesn't have the physical ability to step in and take control of this team.

Never would've thought Conor freaking Cook would be our starting QB in the playoffs. GG, I salute you.

Quite amazed that Penn isn't playing. Must be really banged up. I knew they were concerned about him but even they expected him to be ready to go.

Won't really affect the gameplan though. Get the ball out quick. Heavy dose of the run. Get after Osweiler on D.

The odds are stacked against us, but we can win.
