This is our esteemed Chairman's day job:

https://bkdexecutiveleaders.com/

I find it more than a little disturbing that he's in bed with the person who tried so hard to move us to the Gold Coast.

Anyway, I'm sure that Ben could give us some mates rates on their Governance & Board Review service offering. Even better, maybe him and the majority of the footy department could avail themselves of the Career Transition & Planning services.

As you say........... I just hit the link ( it didn't work- no real surprise there) and was going to ask as I haven't seen Andy D in a while, well since his failed attempt to land a property group the 145 mil build at Deakin Uni why the **** anyone would engage BKD for.........
Governance & Board Review
BKD provides advisory and consulting services to Boards and CEO’s on the performance, dynamics, skill set and diversity of Boards and Directors.
BKD works with Boards to identify gaps in Board performance, Governance structures and the appointment of the right Directors to meet the needs and objectives of the Organisation.

Laura will now be responsible for;

the management of Football Operations- Fail

Welfare (Maj) Fail

Talent Pathways, Fail

VFL alignment- winless and flogged by 94 points -Fail

Women's academies. Yawn and in the nice to have category, without a men's team there is no women's team.

Laura can **** off too!!
Love your work tao but the welfare fail is a low blow and ridiculously unfair.

2+2= 5

Maj hardly trained due to our welfare team ensuring you're 100% and if not , "just take it easy". The reason I know is I always asked about Maj as he was one of the few on the list that actually had me excited.

So I assume it would be the same for all of the boys. Football is secondary at our club.

You'd be better served by just leaving that alone.

In regards to list management, recruitment & trading:

One thing I do know is that on a number of occasions during drafts and list management decisions over the last 2 years Brad Scott and Cam Joyce have gone against the recommendations of Mark Finnigan (recruitment manager) & Michael McMahon (List manager).

The trading Pruess decision was one particular example. McMahon wanted him on the list and wanted to hold him to his contract unless we got a pick inside the top 30 for him. Joyce signed off on the Pruess/Tyson swap despite McMahon not wanting it at all. We subsequently signed Tyson to a 3 year deal which (McMahon) was left fuming about.

The 2016 draft was a complete schmozzle. That was during the transition period where Joyce was moving into the GM of football role, but still wanted control over recruitment decisions. We picked Simpkin, Watson & Williams with our first 3 picks. All the recruiters wanted Sam Powell Pepper at our first but Joyce wanted Simpkin. Guess what happened?

The next two picks are even funnier. At pick 34 we identified Tom Stewart & Luke Ryan as priorities, because we needed better kicking out of the back half. At 36 we identified the need for a small forward I’m lead to believe that we were really keen on one of Willie Rioli/Kayle Kirby/Tingpunwuti.

We then ended up with Dec Watson And Josh Williams instead. Is it a coincidence that our part time QLD recruiter was tight with Joyce? I think not.

There are various other examples of these sorts of things happening too.

Now that is some horrific reading!!

The only way Brad goes is if the leadership group turn on him.

One definitely won’t. One definitely would. Leaves it with the other two, one of them needs to lose confidence on him and call a player meeting.

Considering two out of five only get games because of him, Higgo is there because of BS and Cunners has maybe spoken twice in existence, over to you Taz. No pressure.

He goes if we make it happen.

So does the entire board.

All drafts are irrelevant unless you get that one on a million player- which history shows could be anywhere on draft night (see James Hird, Fyfe etc). Heck even we have stumbled across one in LDU.

Each weekend we get a 3 hour window into the club, which right now is absolutely indicative of our overall problem. We are a business doing all it’s heavy lifting behind closed doors with a goal to maintain the status quo.

It’s panic stations now. We are desperate for a group of high profile north people to organise a board challenge.

Most of us are still angry with the performance yesterday but most of us have all had a feeling for a long time something is not right with the club. I am glad that some past players and current media people are finally discussing the footy club as something needs to change.

This morning i got a message from a well respected footy person into possible problems at the club (they stated it was an observation) i was totally shocked as it was very random and unexpected considering i didn't initiate anything.
I am not going to name names out of respect to the person so please don't ask.

In summary:

The people in charge of the club are "faceless people" who have left Brad in charge

They questioned the recruitment of certain players

Coach has too much power and is close with "afl heavyweights". Top end of the club too scared to question him.

Match day coaching when things don’t go to plan A? (nothing big footy didn't know already)

Ex Tough North people don't want a bare of him

Happy for this thread to be moved into another one as i wasn't sure which thread to post it
Been angry for a while now. Reading this reminds me that nothing will change. Depressing.

I've followed North close to 40 years. I've followed Golden State for 25 years. GSW were an even worst run team with making money it's sole purpose. It took a change in ownership (we went from the worst owners to the best) 9 years ago for things to change. Unless there is a major clean out at North, nothing will change.

Like GWS back then, North don't care about it's fans/members. It only cares about their money. We (GSW) had sell outs game after game for years before we stared getting anywhere near the playoffs. They played entertaining basketball because it would make money, winning wasn't important as scoring lots of points.

Maybe that was Brads idea this year. Bring in the recruits with outside run and skills, play this run and handball game and we'll score lots and profits would increase. That's the only KPI that matters. Brad hits that and he gets another 2 year extension at the end of the year but Brad has got the game plan wrong again.

At least I can enjoy the Warriors after years of suffering but seeing North like this (not caring about winning our 5th flag) is depressing. Winning flags should be the number one focus. If that's a long rebuild then so be it. Quick fixes is about money not a flag.

Are you suggesting there's a player in the leadership group who doesn't like Brad? I've never read that anywhere. Hints?

Why on earth is vitriol being directed at someone who has nothing to do with on field performance?

Yeah, why is the woman getting huge vitriol?

There are plenty of issues for us to deal with, critical issues.

But slipping into some it was better in the old days, Pages would never have stood for this, let's wipe the slate completely clean and go back to how we did it in the 90s.

We need to build on what we have, not burn the farm.

Personally, I don't have any issue with Joyce's work at all.

He's not the reason we are where we are.

You're just spouting supercoach level bullshit.

Joyce isn’t the reason we are here. No doubt about that. That mantle falls directly on the Brad Scott.

But if the Joyce/Scott relationship isn’t an example of the whole boys club working against other parts of the club then I don’t know what is.

I am diametrically opposed to any notion that our list is shithouse and incapable of performing much, much better. If that was the case, then why all the guff to remove the coach?! Your Braydon Preuss example is pure unmitigated supercoach bullshit.

Stop clogging up a serious thread about a serious issue with your personal team selection fantasies.

Not getting your take here at all. A vital part of the process being overridden, with a specific example we can relate to.

Are you suggesting there's a player in the leadership group who doesn't like Brad? I've never read that anywhere. Hints?
Yeah but it goes further than Brad as many have posted on here. If the players turn on Brad (minor miracle no.1), then that doesn't address the ills of Crocker (Brads BOSS), Dilena and Joyce. Buckley as Chairman is an even tougher kill still as he is on the Board and not an executive appointment like the others.

We need change at Board level, or at minimum CEO. That can then lead to a change in Director of Coaching, List Management, and whatever operational roles need attending to. If a majority of the Board is changed then Buckley can be dealt with also. Changing Brad would be great but the cancer is too deep and too wide spread to stop there.

I'm a bit tired of the talk and happy to be involved in action. Real action. Maybe I need to make some enquiries of like-minded North people of the Pagan era and make a case for change at Board level, which could then clean sweep the club and re-set. We have to take the guilt/responsibility off the players to a large extent if you want this scope of change.
