Hopefully hes following up on all this 'insider' mail I keep hearing about, going as far as past players thinking of mobilizing against the clubs current direction.

Even Robbo doesn't have to put his nose far to the ground to know something is smelling fishy at Arden St.

What odds on Caro backing the current board to the hilt?

Is Scotts Tuesday night 360 a regular weekly occasion this year?

Probably knew we were in for a rough one this year and he's mates with Gil, and Fox Footy is in the AFLs pocket, especially 360 which is a mouthpiece for the AFL and ironically Scott is one of few coaches who regularly appears go figure.

So long story short; most likely. It's all part of keeping up appearances with Brad.

He is beginning to look a lot more like Onslow than Hyacinthe.

Does the club have coteries or is it just the one coterie?

And whoever is the main (or only) coterie, what kind of weight do they carry? What influence do they have?

The way our club is going, wouldn't surprise me if the coterie president is besties with Brads Scotts.
Absolutely no influence at all

Why’s that?

I look at what some of them pay and wonder what...
Not sure why, perhaps just as disenfranchised as any member but pay more money to financially support the club. The inside information from the club had progressively dried up over the last 5 to 6 years. There was a lot more privileged information when Fridge and Ozzie were around 10 years ago.

Are you saying 2 of the 4 in the leadership group want him gone?

If so then the players need to revolt.

It needs to happen.

It's gonna be painful but once done we can heal as a team and a club.

Currently we are no where.

You can tell by certain players on field efforts that they're less than pleased with what they're being instructed to do. They're not buying what he's selling. Because he's selling shit.

Fed up.

Is Davo aka David Wheaton still about on here?
It would be interesting to know how many of the OG WANM crew are still around here, and what they make of the current situation.

Davo01 did some great work back in the day.

I'll never forget that phone call into talkback radio (3AW or the other mob) where he put Caro on the spot:

'You've published X number of articles about how North should go to the Gold Coast'

Her response was something like, 'I don't think its been that many'.

Yeah, it was that many. Davo01 had the documents. Every article, headline, and publication date, ready to go.

Good times.

I've heard this about a number of AFL teams for decades.

Whilst that doesn't surprise me, it's an absolutely unacceptable state of affairs.

I bet there's a very high correlation between the teams whose coaches have acted like this and bottom half of the ladder finishes.

All our kids can play. The senior coach does not speak to the kids. He has a core 11 or 12 he addresses and the rest of them are irrelevant.

I bet you someone like Zurhaar maybe speaks to Brad seven or eight times a season.

I have been biting my tongue on this stuff, but I have heard it from two or three different places. It is outrageous stuff.

Interestingly, I heard the same about Pagan. Makes sense as it's pretty hard to get around a list of 40 something blokes regularly.

Adam Simpson was on the radio after the Pies game. Someone commented on the outsider belief that he had a close relationship with his players. He said not really, his Line Coaches have more to do with Player Welfare than he does

Would be a shame if there was constant conflicting advice between LCs and SC....

I've heard it about Sheedy and then later about Pagan.

Well said. Corey can be hugely valuable as a change agent here, to use the wanky term, and I really hope he gets involved to bring about change.

But we are getting dangerously close to Essendon messiah culture now, one man who magically brings back the old days.

Sam Mitchell as coach. That's as far into the Great Man of History line as I'll go.

We also need to seperate the onfield from the off field. We don't have any other choices when it comes to making money.

The old days of hitting up Peter Dr Rauch to pay the bills in February and aiming to win the Ansett Cup for the cash injection are gone, thankfully.

We can be ruthless onfield while being "soft and fluffy" off it.
Agree....if Scott goes then Mitchell is the best replacement.

No mate, it was under him and his cohorts the club was run into the ground and almost died.

Is absolute boys club mentality but of a different sort.

Utter bullshit mate.

PDR is very much a major reason why we still have a club. Very ill-informed take by you and a small number of posters there.

People need to give some credit where it's due for Cam Joyce.

His background was as an opposition analysis and his ability to bring in Higgins, Waite, Dal Santo, Anderson, Jacobs, Marley Williams and Paul Ahern for a collective stuff all has been great.

The club took too long to get rid of the Lewis/Joyce combination at the draft, but his role is now solely recruitment and retention where he has so far been above average if not great.

While Walsh and McDonald were our GM, we were too nice with players. For example how ******* long was Max Warren and Gavin Urquhart on our list for? Joyce is actually prepared to make the tough calls on players such as Clarke, Hartung, Morgan, Mullett, Mountford, Hibberd, Gibson and Wagner and as a result we're finally not tolerating the handy c-grader type. The obvious exception is with Brad's favorites, but it's beyond obvious that Brad has a ton of influence over Joyce.

While an emotional response would be to clean out the entire football department, I have a feeling that with a different coach we'd be seeing an even more ruthless Cam Joyce.

My concern is that Joyce joined us at roughly the same time Scott joined the club, and it was on the back of almost no footy/list experience. Since then he has been promoted multiple times and every time he is promoted he works closer and closer to Brad. IMO they are joined at the hip, and if I had to guess which had more influence over the other I would bet a kidney Joyce is all but Scott's yes man. I thought Joyce was a part of the problem even before some of the comments made about him here. Fair to say those comments have been alarming. It's all scuttlebutt at this stage but I'm hearing almost nothing positive.

What we have is clearly more than a 'senior coach' issue. From what we see on the field, what we hear from club leaders off the field, and from what senior management actually DOES both on and off the field we appear have BOTH a culture and accountability issue. Right now what I want to know more than anything is our KPI's and reporting lines. What our targets are, who sets the targets, and who reports to who. We get those three details and we are more than half way to fully recognising the issues we face and who is responsible for them.

We either need immediate leaks or an audit. To get those we need public pressure. Hell, even with it the odds of getting either are slim, so a board challenge probably will be the way we go. It sucks utter shit that we are only five rounds in and find ourselves in such an awful position. I can't see there being any happy endings this year. There is going to be blood shed between brothers no matter what course is taken, and it's going to be VERY public.

So you think bringing in Waite and dal santo was good? Your dreaming lol all it did was stay competive never looked like winning a premiership, and the age demographic of the list there is a big Imbalance at the time in bringing those players in we already have 5 players over the age of 30. Poor list choices always taking the safe Choice to stay competitive is the reason why north Melbourne is where they are at today with development also a big issue
