Two great events have led me to proclaim today another national holiday.

Firstly, the Coalition has finally received confirmation of their senate majority, with the National's Barnaby Joyce winning the final Queensland spot ahead of some feral from the Greens

And the other great news is that one of the world's most murderous terrorists for the last 40 years, Yasser Arafat, is on the verge of death. Israel, being the insanely over-humanitarian nation that it is, has let foreign doctors travel to Ramallah to treat the villain who is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians. However, Arafat will eventually die and will go straight to hell. Given he has constantly laughed in the face of democracy, this news is also great news for those who love freedom and democracy.

Reports about Arafat's death have been coming for years. I'll believe it when I see it.
True, but it's gotta happen eventually hey?

The bad thing about him dying a natural death is that I don't get to finish him off myself, and on my terms. It would have been nice, but hey you can't have it all so I guess I'll just be happy he's dead.

If anyone had any doubt, whatsoever, about how much of a tosser and goose you are, this statement above would have to confirm it.

Insanely over-humanitarian nation? BWAHAHAHAHAHA, yeah right!

And Hitler was an insanely pro-jewish leader who went out of his way to make life better for the jews!

This is going to be a fun and constructive thread, I can tell.

Palestinian Authority - slaughters Jews

Israel - gives medical care to Arab babies neglected by the Arab world, and treats terrorists YES TERRORISTS after they fail in their attempt to carry out attempted genocide against Israeli civilians.

But think what you want anyway Lestat, because just as Sharon said about Arafat a couple of years ago, 'you are irrelevant'.

For what its worth....re: Arafat. Good riddance, I've never liked him, and see him as part of the problem...not the solution.

But you'd have to agree Tim, to describe Israel as an 'insanely over-humanitarian' state is ludicrous, and a reflection of how much of a dumb ass ignoramus zionist pig Miller really is!

What a brave man Arafat is, sending his wife and child to Paris to live in a nice apartment, on aid money intended for his poor citizens, so that they don't have to live in a war-zone. Sent kids out to martyr themselves, but never bothered to kill himself. If Arafat had any sense, he would have martyred himself (with nobody else nearby so that he didn't take others with him) when he was old enough to carry a gun (which was at about the age of 2 judging by what he's taught millions of young 'Palestinians'.

I'm not really sure about the non-government parties being stifled in their ability to keep the government accountable is a win for democracy.

A win for the Liberal and National Parties, sure.

Just one example of Israel doing something for Arab kids that the Palestinian Authority would never do for Jewish kids (seeing it's too busy trying to teach it's kids to kill Jewish kids).

Iraqi baby arrives in Israel for medical treatment

By The Associated Press (printed in Haaretz)

November 26, 2003.

A week-old Iraqi infant arrived Tuesday in Israel to undergo an operation to correct a congenital heart defect, with the aid of the Israeli organization Save a Child's Heart.

Wrapped in a red and yellow blanket and held by her mother, tiny Bayan Jassem was met by Israeli doctors at the entrance to the emergency room at Wolfson Medical Center in Holon with the Arabic greeting "Salam alaikum," or welcome. Akiva Tamir, the director of pediatric cardiology at the hospital, took the baby in his arms and carried her to a hospital bed, where he hooked her up to a heart monitor.

The hospital room resounded with the gentle beeping of the baby's heart as Jonathan Miles, an American who traveled with the family from Iraq to Israel over the weekend, translated from Hebrew and Arabic for the doctors and parents.

"Shalom," said a nurse in a Hebrew greeting as she hurriedly entered the room, evoking a smile from the mother who held her hands to her face in worry as she listened to her baby's weak cries.

Doctors do not yet know when the operation will be performed, but they said it must be within two weeks of her birth. Tamir said the arteries to her heart are reversed.

The journey would probably have been impossible before the U.S.-led military sweep into Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein, a bitter enemy of Israel. Saddam's forces fired 39 Scud missiles at Israel in the 1991 Gulf war. As early as 1948, Iraqi soldiers took part in the two-year war that followed Israel's establishment.

An American doctor working with the U.S. forces in Iraq who checks babies for heart defects discovered Jassem's problem a day after her birth in a hospital near Kirkuk in northern Iraq, said Simon Fisher, executive director of Save a Child's Heart.

The doctor contacted Miles, who telephoned Save a Child's Heart and the Wolfson Medical Center to ask if they could perform the operation. The hospital is in Holon, south of Tel Aviv, and has been the headquarters of the foundation since its inception.

"This is an emergency condition," Miles said. "No child in Iraq has ever had this operation done," since there are no doctors trained for such an operation in the Arab country, he said.

Tamir, the Israeli doctor, instructed a doctor in Baghdad over the phone on how to perform a minor operation on Jassem to stabilize her condition before she flew with her parents to Amman, and then traveled by car to Israel.

Moshe Mashiah, director of the Wolfson Medical Center, said that as someone who immigrated from Iraq in 1951, he is very excited by the possibility of aiding the Iraqi infant.

"I hope that the surgery will be successful and that this baby girl will serve as a bridge between the two peoples," Mashiah said.

Save a Child's Heart was founded in Israel and receives most of its funding from donations in Israel, the United States, Canada and Germany. It has given medical treatment to almost 1,000 children since it was founded in 1995, including more than 300 Palestinians and several Jordanians.

Interesting that Lestat has suddenly gone quiet. He's obviously searching for something...anything that will prove me wrong, but alas it seems he is the one who is wrong.

Resorting to personal insults, Lestat, shows that you have no argument. I let the facts prove my argument, you invariably end up abusing people.
