One of the reasons I have great concern for the Middle East is the continual barriers put up not only between people in the area but also those in other countries.

Reading this post and others by MillerCHF and others it concerns me when people who live( and were born?) in Australia have great concern bordering on obsession about another country.

Miller as I have posted before in other threads your passion for Howard is to be admired and your passion for the country of your forebears is also to be admired. But if you feel strongly about the issue in Israel may I suggest that you take up the fight personally. You made a comment about wishing Arafat could die by your own hands and not from old age. Please leave on the next plane, because if anyone be they Muslim,Hebrew or Roman Catholic brings an issue involving an external conflict into this country then that is when I will stand up and say no and I will do my utmost to stop it. I remember seeing Croats and Serbs fight I remember the Turkish Embassy been bombed in Sydney by Armenian groups. I have seen countless examples of people bringing regional fights half way across the world.

MillerCHF I believe your forebears came to Australia to escape what was happening in Europe and to live in safety and peace. Why then do you wish to bring the fight here? If you feel serious about it , I understand all Jewish bred people can apply to join the Israeli Army for a period of 2 years conscription and shoot as many terrorists as they want.

I have my opinions and I have my beliefs about what I feel is right or wrong but i also try and look outside the square...ask yourself this ..if Australia rounded all our Aboriginal population up and crammed them into Redfern and put a fence around it..and those same Aborigines then became suicide bombers to defy the orders of the Australian Government...how long before the world came down on our heads? I can guarantee we wouldnt even have time to order the barbed wire to run around Redfern before our aid is stopped.
Yet to condemm Israel for basically the same thing is to be considered an anti-semite? Thats where I dont see eye to eye with you.

I talked about barriers before and all I will say is there are no barriers if you wish to fly out of here.

In the years of the 'troubles' in ireland the Brits were really happy because they mounted an operation and took out most of the high ranking IRA people.

Well the next tlevel down took over and were much more violent than the iones removed.

So even if arafat is removed, it's too early to celebrate. I suspect he is a moderating influence on palestinians, and it could get worse

I have to agree ..to me Arafat needs Israel as much as Israel needs Arafat..its like a marriage..they may hate each other but if one were to die then they would be cut adrift not knowing what the future would hold.

I do believe Israelis shouldnt rejoice when Arafat goes as the level of violence IMO will escalate

True, but it's gotta happen eventually hey?

The bad thing about him dying a natural death is that I don't get to finish him off myself, and on my terms. It would have been nice, but hey you can't have it all so I guess I'll just be happy he's dead.
So dedicated to the cause that you're sitting on your arse in Melbourne?
Surely you'd be on your way to Paris, find the hospital and flick the switch?
Or just maybe you are a keyboard warrior? Miller you are without a doubt the largest pile of weasel excrement that I have ever had the displeasure of conversing with. Put your pea sized heart where your fat mouth is and get on the plane- weasel droppings.....

I'm a pacifist, so I will make you sit down and discuss cease-fire measures with me. If that fails, I'll beat the **** out of you.
