The type of horse winning G1 ls in Australia:

Australian racing is poor at 1600m+

Laughable.

Whisky On A Hill was unlucky in the Herbert Power - was blocked for a run in the straight, then finally got out and ran 3rd. Would probably need to win a race to move up the order of entry for the Melbourne Cup? Maybe attrition rate will help?

Winner Brayden Star i think is backing up next week for the Caulfield Cup, and can not get a weight penalty for the Caulfield Cup either which is handy, such is the conditions of the Herbert Power in relation to the Caulfield Cup, has 51kg in the Caulfield Cup. However is liable for a weight penalty for the Melbourne Cup if the handicapper thinks so.

Last horse to do the Herbert Power/Caulfield Cup Double was Master O'Reilly (2007). WA horse Boom Time ran 4th in the Herbert Power and backed up the following week and won the Caulfield Cup (2017).

The last horse to do the Herbert Power/Melbourne Cup Double was Rogan Josh (1999), he didn't receive a weight penalty for the Melbourne Cup after his 2-length Herbert Power win. Rogan Josh also won the Mackinnon Stakes as well when that race was run 3-days before the Melbourne Cup on Victoria Derby Day.

Both have zero.

MASSIVE run Saint George in the Seymour Cup. First up at only 1600 and been gelded, definitely one to watch moving forward.

Question for the brainstrust.
Nice trial by Steffi Magnetica today but she hasn't been nominated for the King Charles, which was apparently her target race?
Where is she headed, if not there?

Cheers Lunchtime.
Great, so they changed the rules days out from the race. Straight out of the AFL playbook!
At the end of Steffi's trial the commentator mentioned the empire rose.
A bit odd SB have her shorter in the champions mile market, which would be a harder race for her to win.
18/1 for the Rose, I'll take that.

Two horses going around on Saturday that look good Derby horses to my eye

Golden Guru @ $81
Deal Done Fast @ $26

Both look like good stayers coming through from trainers who know how to train Derby runners

If Brayden Star wins a Caulfield Cup I will give punting away. Trent Busted and Nataile Old would have to be one of the shittest trainers in the country. I think he was striking at 2% in the metro area for the season

Bjorn does a live stable video every Friday on his youtube page. Go straight to the source and ask him there.

Not much love for Tom Kitten in the King Charles. Put a line through last start chasing Jenny round the Valley, not suited at all. Could be s big improver, he's shown his best is good enough to win this.
