Like your work however I don't think Lade is worth pick 22.

Surely no one would be dumb enough to give a 2nd round pick for the Eagle

As Packer once said, "you only get one Richmond" in your lifetime, but then again, Port is probably saying that about us :(

Seriously, for a team with a desire for ready-to-go running players (even if they are running away from the opposition:), a second round pick is not unreasonable.

I think St Kilda, Sydney, Richmond (onya Herb), Hawthorn might go for it?

We've already got enough outside left footer wingman at Richmond don't want another one.

Keating perhaps?

Its a sellers market

I think Keating's stocks may have risen sharply after saturday and would be most surprised if he is not a required player.

Are we that flush with smaller types?

I think Rusca and Picken will go, I don't have as high an opinion about Robbins as others, Eagleton has been discussed at length, I haven't seen enough of Colbert to know anything, so that leaves only Cross IMO as a small outside our best 22.

i like Lade but for a third round pick only, which means we may be outbid unless we throw in a player (Eagleton?))

Try this one:

We offer our second and third round picks to Port for Lade or French and their second round pick.

This still gives us a second round pick, albeit about 10 positions worse off, and a key forward/ruck for a third round pick.
Port move up 10 positions in the second round and nab an extra third round pick. Not bad when they are overstocked for tall players.

We target Grima, Gilham, Schulz, Johnson or Brennen with our first pick.

Of course if we can deal Robbins for Hall we may not need the Port deal

Brennan is ours for the taking with our 1st pick, should we want him. Somehow also picking up Gilham would be an absolute coup.
I have him down as mid-to-late 1st round or very early second round.

Ive cooled on Schultz, his recent form suggests he is finding more mature competition much tougher going than the u17s. Would be worth a 3rd round pick maybe if still around.

Are you saying that Gilham is a mid to late first round choice possibly an early 2nd round pick ?
I would be surprised if Gilham went any later than pick 8
Schulz would be a bargin with a second round pick
Brennan is a talent but is also a risky pick.

Come on OldSchool lets see 'em on the block.

Gilham, Schultz or Brennan?

An extra 2 minutes, please.

They'd probably rather swap your first round for French and Port's first round.

Thats is a fair offer but the club seems intent on picking up the best player available with our early pick.
PS Porthos, Port are not known for being fair and reasonable during the trade period.

It is good to see that whilst the club needs height that they will still go for the best player available regardless with our early pick

Not bad thinking Stefoid

I think that Alvey would be close to being worth a mid - late 1st round pick in this draft given the dearth of quality midfielders on offer.

I'd rather keep our 2nd pick than offer it for Lade. What about Lade for Garlick? With the number of clubs after a ruckman it might inflate their worth.

What about young Angwin from Adelaide. He might be a risk but would be relatively cheap.

I also think some people are offering Robbins a bit cheap. I would want more than Ray Hall for Robbins as an example.

I would prefer to keep Robbo and Alvey if we can and offload Eagle and Garlick instead.

Why?

Undisciplined and poor training ethics are the main concerns.
He is a talent because of his athletisicm but I am also note sure if he has natural football instincts.
With our early pick I would not gamble if there are safer picks available. Perhaps if we were to trade down the list he would be worth taking
