"Ode to the Bulldogs"

Another week of frustration
Another week of shame
Will our beloved Bulldogs
Get to win a game

So many full of promise
Confidence is at a low
What is the problem
Are we crap or just to slow

The enthusiasm is missing
They lost it along the way
But somewhere, somehow
They will reclaim it one day

We trudge along to see them play
With great expectations along the way
The devastation when we lose
Makes us upset and gives us the blues

But perserverance and tolerance
That we must adhere
Because the mighty Bulldogs
Will once again be feared

So dont give up guys
All is not so bad
Stick with the Bulldogs
Cos' without them we will be sad

Or the obvious follow-up, 'An Ode to Rohde'

He can't talk in front of the media
and he doesn't know how to coach
We could have rebuilt with draft picks
but instead he decides to poach

We need some hard bodied midfielders
Some blokes with some muscle and meat
So who does he go an recruit?
Some lankos named Koopsy and Street

We're as bad as 2003
this season's become a farce
but at least we can live in hope
that old Peter might get the arse

Let's win a game
Let's win more than once
Our coach used to teach
Yet looks like a dunce

We're red white and blue
a perennial choker
Right now we're just bad
Below mediocre

Once a proud team
But no "team of six"
You can't win by kicking
Outside the big sticks

May the season end quickly
We're all going nuts
For ****'s sake we're Bulldogs
not lame heartless mutts

Peace.

This one is for all the supporters,
who cheer in the wind and rain.
Cheer your guts out for the Bulldogs,
even though it ends in pain.
We've been saying it for years,
and will be for many years to come;
But one day we will see Footscray,
flying high at number one.

The Flag will sit proudly,
right next to 54
and the fans will sing loudly
"let us win some more!"
For every dog will have its day,
as sure as the setting sun
So come doggies get out there!
have a go and have some fun.

Accross the Nullabour
Way over in the West,
The Eagles were awaiting
To put the Doggies to the test

We started off ok
Then it all clouded over,
We were no match for them
We needed a four leaf clover

As the Eagles swooped
settling into cruise control,
The doggies were heading
Towards a large black hole

At three quarter time
They put a fight,
As they edged much closer
But not enough to see the light

The Eagles regrouped
And re-ignited their flame,
Sadly for our team
We lost, and thats the ball game

As we look to next week
With the Hawks, we do play,
If we lose this one
It will become judgement day
