We are competitive with India here. What happens in England is another matter altogether.

They won the test series 2-1 (would have been 3-1 if not for rain) and the ODIs are 1-1 after two. If these series were in India we'd be lucky if the tests weren't 4-0 and the ODIs headed the same way.

Our ODI team isn't terrible but our players in general aren't very adaptable to unfamiliar conditions.

Do we go to Behrendorff and say "You've booked your spot, we're giving Stanlake and the two spinners a go"? Time to see if Stanlake is up to it at this stage

I'd give him the full 5 ODIs to see if he holds form and fitness. He's missed a fair bit of cricket and one or two good games isn't a trend.

Andrew Tye played a couple of very good ODIs last Summer then took 2/42 off 10 against England at The Oval. Got pasted at Cardiff and Trent Bridge and hasn't been seen since. Fortunes can change very quickly when you're not established.

Peter Siddle

8 overs 1/48
8 overs 0/58

Too early to say the experiment has failed?
Nope. Isn't even in Victoria's best XI for List A cricket! Would have Tremain, Boland, Pattinson and Coleman all ahead of him.

Does OK for the Strikers in the BBL but still a strange pick given he hasn't played ODIs for donkeys years and didn't feature in the JLT. Mitch Johnson still smashes it in T20 cricket but that doesn't mean he'd dominate bowling 10 over spells.

CA are usually narrow minded about their pace bowlers. They want guys who can bowl 140+ and they want at least one left armer. Siddle was a very odd call.
