In opposition news, politics rearing its ugly head in the India camp:
Inappropriate comments have cast a shadow over India’s Test celebrations and ODI preparations, with Virat Kohli making his displeasure clear, as Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul face suspension amid a sexism scandal.

Kohli is yet to hear from India’s board whether Pandya, a gun all-rounder who is normally an automatic selection in India’s one-day team, is free to play Saturday’s SCG series opener.

Pandya and Rahul’s recent appearance on an Indian talk show, during which the former had detailed how he had bragged to his parents about losing his virginity, has created a storm in their homeland.

I'm not sure about Carey opening. Much prefer Khawaja or Marsh there to be honest.

Finch
Marsh
Khawaja
Handscomb
Stoinis
Maxwell
Carey

I feel like we've tried all our keepers at the top of the order since Gilchrist retired.
I agree. Playing Carey at the top is also wasting Maxwell. IMO Maxwell needs to bat between 3-5.

Shaun Marsh scored 3 tons last year at 3 and i think thats where he should bat in ODI's. Its pretty evident in the long format that he struggles when het gets moved around the batting order. I'd get Uzzie to open and have Marsh at 3.

I'm excited to see Richardson. 32 wickets @ 33 isn't too bad for your first 11 List A matches. Strikes at 36, too. For a weedy kid that's 5'10'' he bowls with serious heat.

Actually had a poor JLT Cup this year but in true CA fashion he is being rewarded for Shield/BBL form.

It's a little tough to judge people on limited overs stats. For instance a batter coming in at 6 has little chance of scoring a century and often has to throw away their wicket.

Brett Lee would often go at 6 an over but he was devastating coming into the attack in the middle overs and getting a couple of wickets

What role just Richardon play for WA

We need an anchor in the top 4, someone who will hold and end and score close to a run a ball while the other end blasts.

Katich, Clarke, Waugh etc have all been vital for us and allowing the others to go big. We don't have anyone that good in the side but I think Khawaja could play the role.

S.Marsh is that IMO and he should come in at 3 for that role.

That said the game has changed and the currently the best ODI side is England they have the likes of Hales @3 and Morgan @5. Those two are similiar in to Maxi how they go about building their innings. Maxi is one of the most talented players in Australia and I think he should be given more responsibility with the bat now( In ODI's). I'd love to see him playing 4-5 for a bit.

Maxwell has had plenty of chances in the ODI side recently and done nothing. Stoinis has been more consistent and that says a lot.

We also went about 2-12 last year.
Marsh is old and crap.
NO MORE MARSH!
NO MORE MARSH!

Spell. Throughout his career he's been a very good white ball cricketer for Australia but he's been getting the reverse treatment that he's been getting with test selections.

India’s Ambati Rayudu has been reported with a suspect bowling action during the first one-day international against Australia in Sydney on Saturday.

The match officials’ report, which was handed over to the India team management, cited concerns about the legality of the 33-year-old off-spinner’s bowling action.

Rayudu’s bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.

Was our highest scorer in the last ODI series we played. But yeah, I'm sure your persuasive argument will sway the selectors next time they meet.

Averages 41 from 61 ODI matches. 416 runs @ 59 last year, one innings of 54 this year.

The best thing CA can do is pigeonhole Shaun Marsh as a white ball cricketer. He's seriously good at and completely unreliable in tests.

I'd happily sacrifice Khawaja from ODI/T20I as a red ball specialist to have Marsh go the other way.

I'd tend to agree, also long as Mitch joins that "no test cricket ever again" group too. Not convinced on Khawaja in ODI's.
