Yeah sure that is. But are you putting him in there for a maybe needed in terms of hitting and just death bowling? What about his other 7 overs? He'll be needed to bowl at the death because his other overs will got for 50.I'd argue death bowling and late order hitting are basically the same in t20 and 50 over cricket though. The skills are easily transferable between formats.

He should improve first in the local tournament first (when they used to have one). He hasn't proven to be a good player at state level, there are players out there better than him who have proven to be better, but aren't as "special". He's another Starc/Johnson really. Picked with rubbish results, producing rubbish and still getting picked. That's where you back him to improve in the national set up, surrounded by experienced players and coaches to guide him through.
We picked bowlers like Pattinson before they were the complete package because there was something there. I'd argue the same applies to NCN.

And the man above him isn't playing because he isn't as "special". Not too different from Hastings and he isn't getting a game, provides the same allround ability and is more proven. The problem is his 5 an over. If he isn't taking wickets, he provides nothing. And he doesn't take a lot of wickets. He took the second most amount of wickets in the Ryobi cup last year - 16 wickets in 7 matches at 23 conceding 4.9 an over.
Was 7th the season before from only 5 games.
His batting adds to his selectability. If those aren't good stats at state level, I don't know what is.

By performing rubbish, but being a golden child of Aus cricket. Selection panel has no balls, needs to be gutted and put non-CA affiliated people in place.5 an over is pretty good in one dayers these days - would take that every time.
Richardson was selected at the same time as NCN, but had trouble with his follow through, which is how Coulter-Nile went past him.

So Clarke saysJohnson and Pattinson both out. The 11 iis Warner, Watson,Finch,Clarke, Bailey, Haddin, Maxwell, faulkner, Coulter Nile, Mckay, Doherty.
Not sure about the bowling line up there. Patto should be in front of coulter nile and faulkner.
Have you seen Faulkner's ODD/ODI record?
Yes I have. That bowling line up though doesnt give me much confidence. Faulkner, Coulter-Nile and Maxwell are all players who can do a bit with both bat and and ball but not great at either. Our only bowlers are Mckay and Doherty. Then 3 bowling all rounders. 1 Batting all rounder in Watson. Too many all rounders for my liking. We will still beat England though.
