Strategy O'Driscoll's Left Foot

His goal was good on a number of fronts. Not least because of some recent clangers just before that as another poster mentioned and still took on the risk and responsibility of taking the game on like that. Also the fact he sized up the oppo and backed himself in such a quick moment. Mostly though, the skill execution at speed was a real holy sh** moment to watch. It was crazy good.

He could have 3 goal of the week noms this year.

3!
In a year!!
From a wing!!!
Better than our forwards combined 🤗

Holy * the AFL actually recognised the body of work from an interstate player rather than defaulting to Sam Darcy.

Interesting that he also recognises the disparity between his WAFL and AFL performances. Well deserved :purpleheart:

Darcy also only kicked 2 goals, I remember watching him line up for his 3rd thinking if he kicks this he'll steal the rising star nom from Driz

The highlights package looks like something they'd put up on Brownlow night for the winner. Pretty handy for 10 games.
If Fremantle do the unthinkable and delist Crowden, you might have to adopt Drizzy as your new son!

entertaining that those goals are all but 2 of his for his career.

Just want to note that I can't believe this is the same player that could barely pick the ball up off the ground playing for Peel last year. Stoked to be wrong about him.
Spent a lot of times injured last year.
He was going to be tried as a wing man at Peel testing to see how he would go at AFL level. Sadly got injured the day he was to be tried there.
But the wing move was already in motion last year.

Sure, but generally AFL quality players don't look as far off it as he did at times last year, even when injured or coming back from them. Staggering improvement.

He's been ingesting bottled sweat from the bald spot on Mundy's head.

Secret tonic.

If you are going by that, then we have a lot of duds sitting back at Peel. The ones we are pinning our hopes on.

Nah, I think Noddy would be the first to admit (and he did in his OBYB podcast), he was deadset awful to start the year last year. And awful for WAFL level, not awful for AFL level. It's very different to the kids we have at Peel for the majority of this year

Fun fact -

Nathan O'Driscoll hasnt lost a AFL Game yet when he hasn't been a sub.

10 Matches - 9 wins 1 loss.

The only loss he played in this year was Round 2 against St Kilda his debut game as medical sub which was pretty dumb from the club and i hope doesn't happen again. Maybe we got our karma that day.

But Drissy seems to be our lucky charm atm.
Won't bet on the media talking it up like they did Bowey

He’s shown that players can rise to the level they are at (AFL) despite looking just WAFL standard when surrounded by state league players.
Brandon Walker was another that did very little at Peel and didn’t stand out but looks at home in the AFL side since he started playing there.

You just wonder, if Sturt got a couple of AFL games….
