wood won't be going anywhere unless we bring in a ready made ruck back up such as stefan martin or zac clarke, both of whom we are interested in but neither of whom we can afford now that cloke is staying. as disappointing as wood was this year, neither ceglar or witts is ready to fill the breach week in week out should jolly go down, so wood must be retained

Collingwood hasn't delisted any senior player, yet.

Rodney Eade explained it last night, that the club had discussions with all the uncontracted players on Monday and Tuesday and they were told what their place was at the club (if any) and that they would not be delisted until after the trade period, which makes total sense, because even someone like Rounds may become part of a bigger deal during the trade period.

It just makes no sense to delist anyone yet.

Well I see that poing and De-Listing Free Agency does not start to after Trade Month. And we could possibly package a Deal with one of them

Free Agency starts in 4 days, I am pumped for it. Hopefully we can get some role players. Just look at Sydney they never go after the best player they go for players to fill their needs even if they aren't a graders. It's time for Rounds to leave, I can't see him getting a game in that forward line and he is also very slow. Good luck to him, I hope he gets picked up by another club.

I agree with Matty, we have made the mistake of delisting players in the past before the trade period and therefore made it worse for ourselves to get something for them. I think we did that with JMac (RIP) last year and had no bargaining power and lost him for nothing.

Good luck if he leaves and it's more than understandable he'd look at other options from other clubs if they came asking.

Best hope with Wood is to bundle him up with someone, hopefully GWS if Giles leaves and pay part of his wage to make some cap space.

Yeah be interesting how Free Agency Goes

I believe this may be the article of which the assumption Rounds is gone came from.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/148568/default.aspx

The article states Luke would like to stay at Collingwood, however the club has made no decision to his future as of yet so he will be looking for a trade if the opportunity arises in trade week.

In no way does the article state that the pies have made a decision to delist or trade Luke.

You cannot begrudge him for seeking opportunities elsewhere.

We'd probably do a token deal for him to get him to a club that is prepared to give him a chance.

I like Rounds but with the forced list changeover and contract timing it looks like his time is up. A re-draft or rookie perhaps if he really wants to stay at the club, although will have better best 22 prospects elsewhere.

I guess it come down to how Hine rates the 60+ draft picks, is Rounds better than one of them?

If he wants to go to a certain club I hope we do the right thing and take their last pick to get him there.

He played his best vfl footy up forward, before being moved to the backline

He came into the seniors and tagged boomer Harvey last season, then was dropped

Late this year he was playing some creative footy coming our of the back half but couldn't break in.

Fwiw I think he has plenty of talent but the club hasn't seemed to define his role which makes his performances across the three years at collingwood seem a little checkered

I like your sentiment, IMO you would be mad to let him go 21 (22) at the start of next season, drafted as a bottom age, Zero Pre Seasons, despite what someone else suggested, high speed, good kick and a good defensive shutdown option, but four years for 6 games and only 1 this year means he is more than likely to be elsewhere next year.

It amused me that as you searched for a fast tag late in the year he was not considered at all, so obviously your coach doesn't rate him.

Good move by the kid and his managed, was a cert to be delisted so go on the front foot and cite seeking more opportunity elsewhere.

Not quite good enough for pieland but could be useful at one of the new clubs, he is still quite young and has a bit of experience now.

Doubt anyone will trade for him unless he is the steak knives in the deal so more a chance through the draft.

Good luck to him.

Agreed, he's played in the midfield, up forward AND in defense. It's like the club's in limbo with where to put him.

I think he had his opportunity this year as a small forward because we definitely lacked in that area. He was tried there in the pre-season but didn't show enough. Guys like Elliot and Sinclair jumped ahead of him. Even Ugle was tried in that position ahead of him.

Seems a long way off making our top 22 at the moment.

Think he needs to add a bit of hardness to his game he seems to spectate a bit and let others do the work, I think he has the talent but I question his intensity.

does anyone else think we should go after stefan martin seriously because yeah theres cam pedoson aswell but he is more of a full time foward, and martin is more of a ruck who can play foward or back key positions too. with jolly coming into his final year i would think at 31 will be nursed through the season in 2013 and martin would be the perfect option to play the leigh brown role for us but also be reliable to take 1st ruck role if jolly goes down, he is good size and has a good leap very athletic and i think we all no what happened when he was given the 1st ruck role when jamar went down last year and how much he dominated. He has good and and would be a very good tap ruck, he has fallen out of the senor side of possibly the worst team in the comp this season and melbourne value clark, jamar, seller and others more than him. would come pretty cheap, doesnt look like coach neeld likes him much. would cost maybe a 2 round pick.

Now its been reported that melbourne want to get their hands on wellers and dawes, and its been reported by walsh that we would be active this trade period and that their are arould 6 established players from our side that will be used as trade bait and chris dawes is said to be one of them.
I think a trade could be done for wellers and dawes to melbourne, i was thinking something like this
( sharrod wellingham + chris dawes in exchange for stefan martin + there 2nd round pick which would be somewhere in the 20's in a deep draft.

what do you guys think?
p.s i think Melbourne wouldn't worry bout the pick really because they would rather try and lure established experienced players.
