Draft picks

43: Kieran Collins
47: Jordan Ridley
75: Lachlan Tiziani
78: Darcy Cameron
92: Louis Pinnuck

Trades

1. Brisbane get Sam Day and #40
Gold Coast get #28 and #57
We needed a key defender. Day fills the role. Worth the risk with a mid 2nd rounder
2. Brisbane get Jeager O'Meara and Matt Shaw
Gold Coast get Pearce Hanley and #20
Big risk this trade, We are confident JOM will be back playing 18+ games next year. Shaw was thrown in and adds good depth with his line breaking abilities. This trade could be a big lose but Snake was willing to take the risk on JOM
3. Brisbane get Ollie Wines
Port get Rhys Mathieson and #2
Pick 2 would of been Mccluggage or preferably McGrath. To get Wines is massive happy to have an A grade mid. Mathieson was one I didn't want to trade unless the right deal came along and this was it.
4. Brisbane get Dom Sheed and Jack Darling
West Coast get Tom Rockliff and Jarred Jansen
Rockliff was always going. This trade was made a lot easier after I landed JOM and Wines. Darling will be excellent for the deveoplemt of Hipwood and Schache. Sheed is another who has star potential.

5. Brisbane get Marcus Adams
Western Bulldogs get Jono Freeman
Adams walks into the 22 as a key defender. Wasn't keen on losing Freeman but he was handy trade bait to improve our 22

6. Brisbane get Mitch Honeychurch
Western Bulldogs get Claye Beames

Depth for depth trade. Honeychurch has good pace and skills. Needs a chance at the top level and could get that at Brisbane.
7. Brisbane get Daniel Rioli and Shane Edwards
Richmond get Daniel Rich

Rich requested a trade to Richmond on day 1 of trade week. The club was sad to see him go but we pick up a youngster with a bright future in Rioli. Edwards adds more pace which has tried to be the clubs goal this trade period.
8. Brisbane get #43
Collingwood get Michael Close
After trading in Darling Close was behind a long list of tall forwards to get a game. 43 gets us three picks in the 40s. One of those might be used to lure a small defender

9. Brisbane get Matt Dea
Essendon get #43
We needed a small defender. Dea has neat skills and can player on the taller players to. Picking up #43 made this trade possible. So can sort of view it as a Close for Dea trade.
10. Brisbane get Nick Vlastuin and #78
Richmond get Liam Dawsom and Allen Christensen
Not much reason to this trade. Was happy to trade Christensen as I have Rioli. Vlastuin adds more midfield depth and could go back for Cutler.
11. Brisbane get Daniel Gorringe
Carlton get Josh Walker
Needed another ruck. Walker was surplus. Gorringe may turn into a nothing player but is young enough still
12. Brisbane get Sam Murray
Sydnet get Justin Clarke
Murray looks a pretty handy prospect. After missing TAC selection he has had good year in the NEAFL. Clarke has come out of retirement despite doctors concerns
13. Brisbane get Kamdyn McIntosh
Richmond get Ryan Harwood
McIntosh adds nice depth. Will compete will Mayes and Dea for a spot down back

Draft Picks: 25,66,79 (assuming Brisbane don't receive a PP, I am Eddie McGuire in this game and am adamantly against this.)
2017: 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th, Crows 2017 second.

INS

Lin Jong (Straight swap for Witts)
Tex Walker (Pissed off Darcy Moore for this trade to occur)
Rampe
Jacobs
Crows 2017 Second Rounder
Michael Close
55
Maric

OUTS

Witts (Traded to Bulldogs for Lin Jong)
Darcy Moore (Traded to Adelaide for Tex Walker)
Broomhead
Scharenberg
Grundy
Pick 43
Cloke

Trade Summary and Reasoning:

Trade #1 Witts for Jong

Witts is a s**t player. Slowest I've ever seen. Ling Jong can move allegedly so this seems a good trade.

Trade #2 Moore for Tex

This trade typifies my play style this game. Burn the future for the present. Call me crazy vossy. In all seriousness, Darcy Moore requested a trade to Adelaide so in pure Collingwood fashion we didn't take that lightly and decided to steal Adelaide's captain. Cop that. Tex is clearly the better player and we were suprsied when the offer for a trade came through. Very happy with this trade.

Trade #3 Scharenberg+Broomhead+Grundy for Jacobs+Rampe+2017 second rounder.

Admittedly got reamed here because it turns out you campaigners don't accept 2017 picks in any trade offers. Not too fussed though because Scharenberg hasn't played an AFL game and Broomhead is constantly injured. Basically two spuds and Grundy for an older spud-ish ruckman and a premium defender in Rampe. If I can turn this 2017 pick into literally anything I would have won this trade.

Trade #4 Michael Close for pick #43

Absolute Bargain. Close is a decent player and when he's playing behind Tex Walker and Jesse White, he'll be a very good player. Can run all day, takes a strong mark, great kick for goal. Better then anything else you'd get for pick 43 in the draft. Cop that go home factor Brisbane you scrubs.

Trade #5 Maric for pick 63

Welcome to the club you spud.

Trade #6 Cloke for 55

Bless his cotton spud socks. Got rid of him instead of just delisting him because I assumed we actually had to follow delisting rules in this game.

Goal for the rest of the trade period: Turn Frost and Brown into one decent defender somehow. Get some more run in the midfield. Perhaps another rebounding defender and a backup ruckman to replace spud witts.

I am open to trading young guns and draft picks for proven players. Come at me rebuilding clubs.

Completed Trades:
-Trade Trengove to West Coast for pick #30
"Would of liked to keep him but had a confrontation with Coach Chael. Had to show him who was boss".

-Trade Robbie Gray + Pick 45 to Gold Coast for Dion Prestia + Pick 21
"Robbie sooked and asked to be traded to the Gold Coast. Apparently missed his family. Did not even know (and still don't) if he is even from there. Thought the trade was a good outcome. Received Prestia who is young and a very decent pick upgrade. "

-Trade Hombsh to Sydney for Sam Reid + pick #36
"This was a no brainer. Hombsh was probably worth a Sam Reid or pick #36. To get both was a big win."

-Trade Hartlett + pick 63 to Geelong for Darcy Lang + Mark Blicavs + pick 52
"Hartlett wanted out. Was able to get a young up and comer in Lang and a B&F ruckman Blicavs, was a good result".

-Trade Wines to Brisbane for Rhys Mathieson + pick 2
"Wanted to keep Wines as wanted to keep youth. But the trade was too good to say no to."

-Trade Ryder to Sydney for pick 23
"Paddy is 28 next year, has missed a whole season of footy and may never get back to his best. Pick 23 was worth it. Especially considering the arrival of Blicavs".

PICKS:
40, 50, 73, 91, 109
2017 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th rounders.

Completed trades:

1) Zerrett & Hibberd to North for Goldstein and Mason Wood.
Unfortunately Zerrett requested a trade to North Melbourne (as enforced upon me by tradesman) after North offered him 2 mil per year on a 12 year deal, devastating the club. Heppell offered to play for free if we could keep him on the list but Zerrett wouldn't have it. Fortunately we were able to swing North Melbourne's best player in Goldstein as part of the trade who is still 28 and once we get him back to full fitness will be the best ruck in the comp, can ruck all game and drift forward to damage the scoreboard. Also heard Hibberd wanted to go to Melbourne and I figured "North Melbourne" has the word Melbourne in it so we threw him in to get back Mason Wood as a promising developing young forward.

2) Pick 1 to Sydney for Titchell, Papley and Sydney 1st rounder
Pick 1 was up for sale and this offer was too good to refuse. Pick 1 is no guarantee to be a superstar and if I was told he would be as good as Titchell I would take that. To get a young gun small forward in Papley and another 1st rounder as part of the deal made it too good to refuse.

3) 19, Brown, Zaharakis for Cotchin
May have over-payed a bit her for Cotchin but he's a gun, he's still only 26 and having the captaincy taken off him should hopefully free him up in a midfield with much more support than what he's used to. Expect him to add a huge amount to the club.

4) Matt Dea for pick 40
Have depth here in the back line, got Dea for free so picking up pick 40 for him will help on draft day. We really think this is such an even draft across the board and should be able to get the player we want at pick 40.

5) Travis Colyer and pick 37 for Jordan Lewis and pick 50.
Targetted Lewis as a player who can add a huge amount of leadership, experience, grunt and skill to our midfield. Was considered strongly to take over as captain from Hodge when at Hawthorn which says something. Is 30 but in career best form over the last couple of years and think he can reproduce that form for a few more years to come. Will miss Colyer's pace but the ball moves faster through the air and Lewis' pinpoint passing will help us transition the footy even faster.

6) James Kelly and pick 55 for Tyrone Vickery
Again got Kelly for free and just looking at getting Vickery for KP depth. Could be a very promising player under the right circumstances and Woosha is the man to do it.

7) Jayden Laverde and Sydney 1st rounder for Jack Gunston
Targeted Gunston as the perfect foil to Joe Daniher. Great lead up mark, great shot on goal, creates a lot of forward pressure for a big man (averaging 3 tackles/game this year which is super for a KPF) and people forget he is still only 24. Losing Laverde hurts and we lose our position in the draft but you have to give something to get something.

8) Tom Bellchambers for Bachar Houli
After bringing in Goldstein as the main ruck, TBC was demoted to 3rd ruck and was keen on a move for more opportunities. Bachar Houli was a good get for the team bringing some decent pace as well as a penetrating kick out of our back line.

Essendon Delistings:
Adam Cooney - Retired as spongey floors can only do so much
Tayte Pears - Retired to become a fire fighter
James Gwilt - Retired after a very solid career getting the best out of himself.
Shaun Edwards - Lots of talent but cannot develop his consistency. Looking to retain on the rookie list.
Jason Ashby - Just couldn't quite make it.
Tom Wallis (Rookie) - Was picked up as a favor to his dad but never showed enough.

Adelaide

Current Best 22:
FB: Brown-Talia-Laird
HB: Rich-Lever-Scharenberg
C: Macrae-B Crouch-Hall
HF: Dunkley-Jenkins-Breust
F: Betts-Moore-Menzel
R: Grundy-Sloane-Barlow
Int:M Crouch, Yeo, Boyd, Milera

Next in line: Broomhead, Thompson, Sheridan, Hartigan, Henderson, Hampson

Players not available for trade :
1. Daniel Talia
2. Rory Laird
3. Jack Lever
4. Jackson Macrae
5. Rory Sloane
6. Darcy Moore
7. Brodie Grundy
8. Eddie Betts
9. Aaron Hall

Player list analysis (Best 22 only):
Inside midfielders:
Brad Crouch, Matt Crouch, Rory Sloane, Michael Barlow

Outside midfielders:
Jackson Macrae, Aaron Hall

Utility:
Elliot Yeo (Rotate between inside & outside mid)

Key Position Defence:
Daniel Talia, Jack Lever

General Defenders:
Rory Laird, Matthew Scharenberg, Matthew Boyd, Daniel Rich, Luke Brown

Key Position Forward:
Josh Jenkins (Pinch-hit in the ruck), Darcy Moore

General Forwards:
Wayne Milera (Play on the wing occasionally), Eddie Betts, Josh Dunkley(Play on ball occasionally), Troy Menzel, Luke Breust

Ruck:
Brodie Grundy, Josh Jenkins (Pinch hit)

Completed trade:
1.
Pick 49+Brodie Smith+Mitch Mcgovern
For
Matthew Boyd, Jackson Macrae, Josh Dunkley

Reasoning: Macrae truly is the perfect player for Adelaide's current team. Macrae is a highly productive outside midfielder/winger with strong capabilities of clearance work as well. He offers prolific outside run and has very precise kicking skills. The loss of Brodie Smith may hurt, however he is very prone to be tagged out of the game and his inconsistency really causes headaches for the Adelaide selection panel. Macrae will be replacing Mackay on the wing who has really been a liability all year.

Matthew Boyd, a current all australian defender is brought in as immediate replacement/upgrade for Smith for Adelaide to continuously push for an imminent premiership.

Dunkley is brought in for Mcgovern who are both similar players with the half-forward/medium forward role. Dunkley also offers the versatility of shifting to the midfield on top of his impressive work at half forward.

2.
Cameron Ellis Yolmen
For
Matthew Barlow+Thomas Sheridan

Reasoning:
Matthew Barlow has always been and might always be an extremely underrated inside midfielder. Sure he has his deficiencies, which are speed and disposal efficiency. However, he is truly an outstanding inside midfielder who absolutely excels at contested possession and clearances. His upside undoubtedly outweighs his liabilities, which are lessened by having very classy outside midfielders like Macrae & Atkins. Cameron Ellis Yolmen was starved of opportunity at Adelaide and we wish him all the best, but nonetheless Barlow is a clear upgrade on Ellis Yolmen and will take a permanant inside midfield role with immedtiate impact on the 2017 premiership compaign. Thomas Sheridan was also brought in to fulfill run & carry duties with his impressive pace off half back or wing. He will start on the bench and rotate with Macrae/Atkins/Boyd/.

3.
Tom T Lynch
for
Elliot Yeo

Reasoning:
With possibly the best forward line in the league, and a plethora of forward talent. The club has decided to further strengthen its midfield with the addition of Elliot yeo at the expense of Tom T Lynch.

Elliot Yeo is an extremely versatile player capable of playing half-back/Inside midfield/Wing/Half Forward/Key position defence. Yeo is an incredibly exciting player, able to break lines and dominate games with his agility and athleticism. At this stage he will play a duel inside/outside midfield role.
BREAKING NEWS:
Matt Crouch decided that he has had enough of Brad Crouch being recognised as the more talented of the two at Adelaide and has requested a trade to Sydney. Never mind, was just a rumour :D

4.
Pick 13+Charlie Cameron

For

Pick 19+Dane Rampe

Reasoning:
Charlie Cameron requested a trade to Sydney(Compulsory trade). A like for like trade in Heeney was preferred however Sydney specifically stated that it wasn't happening. Dane Rampe however is a solid alternative, being a recent All-Australian defender who will further strengthen our defence line and improve our rebounding skills.

5.
Taylor Walker

For

Darcy Moore

Reasoning:

Unfortunately, our captain Taylor Walker requested to Collingwood(Compulsory trade). Currently Walker is the better of the two, but Moore is as promising as a young KPF can be, having already shouldered the number 1 forward role for Collingwood in 2016. We're confident in Moore's ability and potential, and that he will soon exceed Walker's football ability. Moore will be playing at full forward in 2017 in partner with Josh Jenkins, who will also pinchhit in the ruck and allow Moore to focus on becoming a genuine start KPF.

6.
Sam Jacobs+Dane Rampe

For

Brodie Grundy, Matthew Scharenberg, Tim Broomhead

Reasoning:
Adelaide is absolutely wrapped with Grundy's inclusion, who is already a top 5 ruck in the game under the age of 23, we believe he will significantly improve our clearance work as well providing a marking target on the wing during transition. We have also brought in Scharenberg for Rampe, as we thought we had excess defensive based defenders in back 6. With Hartigan, Talia, Lever, Laird and Rampe we were lacking run and carry as well as precise rebounding skills, all of which will be offered by Scharenberg to a very high degree. Tim Broomhead will finalise our midfield with more classy skills, line breaking face and precise delivery into our forward 50.

7.
Pick 19 for Luke Breust

8.
Richard Douglas for pick 44

9.
Kyle Cheeney, Jarryd Lyons for Pick 20, 27

Pick 10.
2017 1st round pick, Rory Atkins, Pick 44 for Aaron Hall+pick 24.

10.
Pick 20, 24, 27 for Daniel Rich and Pick 17.

11.
Pick 67 for Shaun Hampson

12.
Riley Knight for 56, 58
Live picks: 17, 56, 58
