Off the Turps

for a month....I have been alcohol free!! *claps self*
Who else has been on a purity binge since Xmas - and yes that does include New Year's....!!

I think it is great to have a break from the booze once in a while, but when the long weekend comes around, and BA gets paid, then watch out front bar at the local nightclub - I will be leaning on you for support!

I am feeling refreshed and ready for another onslaught of Mr Booze!

Yep, I can proudly say I've been off the Turps for nearly a decade now. Ever since channel 9 axed "Supermarket Sweep".

I don't touch the stuff. I think that it is just disgusting when you see somebody who you love drink the stuff until they get drunk and spew because they have had too much.

It's far smarter to have a smaller regular intake of alcohol than to kid yourself that you are doing anything good by staying sober for a month before blowing your head off in one go.

The hangover is a hell of a lot kinder, for starters!

Well ... I would suggest that, whatever your favourite thing is, just add the word "Anonymous" to the end of it ... Then look it up in the phone book ... and get to a meeting real soon.

Been there done that, didn't help at all. Now I'm drink much less than before. I'm slowly reducing my intake again. I won't be going back to AA, I found them useless.

It depends on what someone defines as a 'drink' BA. One or two (beers, not bottles of vodka) a week wouldn't be enough to qualify yourself as an alcho. Waking up every morning having eye openers and then forgetting what time of the day it is alcholism.
