So it's just random. Random. Random. Random.
Wasn't even a proper quiz then, was it?? :p
I think all those quizzes, which are short, only requiring a name + one other choice are set on a sequence, just keep changing your name + weapon until you find a name you like lol I'll still always think of you as Clown Cat though :p Cause you being a Clown, turned that frown upside down ;)

When you read about what actually happened it becomes clear that those two to a certain extent used the other 7 people involved and as such 6/7 are now iirc serving life sentences as a result.

On balance I do not feel sorry for Chan or Sukumaran. They've ruined the lives of 7 others by manipulating and using them. Good riddance I say!
I thought it was the photos of the journos killed on Timor (I think) + didn't realise it was the BALI nine (cause Bali + Timor are so much alike with their letters 'nall o_O)

Add all the lives ruined by the heroine they were smuggling + those people's families + friends!

Aussie Customs or AFPolice new what they were doing + dobbed them into the Indonesians, so they were using them as an example! I don't believe in the death penalty, BUT, if you go to a country, which has the death penalty, then you have to suffer the consequences if you break their laws. I feel for their parents, families + friends, but I don't have much sympathy for those two.

she probably chose bow and arrow as well ;) lol. She doesn't need to stand close to him in that case- she can see by his evil grin that he's up to mischief with us and she just cuts loose with an arrow ;).....
Although she did offer us money to take him off her hands, we could share him, three months with you, three months with me etc ??? I'd save money on the pool boy + gardner + he'd be very comfortable locked up under the house, when I don't need him :D If he's as bad as she implied, we might make a tidy sum ;) Plus, he could bring his cute little grand-daughter to visit :hearts:

Thank you boobsie, I needed an enabler ;) May just have another one now.

How brave were our ANZACS to go so far from home to fight for the freedom of our allies? Look at the boats! Look at the conditions in the trenches in the Somme! I don't really think we can ever quite know the full extent of their suffering + sacrifice!
Even today, Australians are involved in the training of US Marines!
Many people are unaware that it was the Australians who entered Iraq to secure major infrastructure from destruction, before the war began!
The incredible contribution to Afghanistan!
Korea!
Vietnam!
United Nations Peace Corps!

That amazing + distinguishing Slouch Hat :hearts:

I think of my Dad's contribution in Borneo, from which he never recovered + succumbed to a ravaging illness later in life resulting from his service :(
It would have been a ghastly experience. The poms lost 60 thousand in one assault. In one morning. Crazy.

We lost nearly 4 times our Gallipoli losses in and around the western front, so I think it's more important to us, especially the wins we had. They were significant and changed the outcome of the war

Absolutely horrific! I have a nervy turn when I get sand in between my toes or in my cossie  But those in trench warfare were stuck in freezing mud! I can't imagine the horrors! Not to diminish the other Allied Countries, but the Europeans were fighting to save their homes, lives, countries etc. I believe that the ANZACS, Indians, South Africans - British Colonial countries soldiers + other Colonial countries' soldiers, who volunteered + other Colonial countries' soldiers were extremely brave fighting for their mother countries.

German, just loved your programme! Had tears in my eyes, I hope everyone you were with know how fantastic it was! Thank you.

Only reason I post, would be talking to myself otherwise!
Hi Liger, thought I'd take this out of the footy thread, so the purists aren't annoyed.

Very happy that you post just for Teri + me ;) We are your biggest fans!!!

Is this little sheep another of your pets?

Many of the soldiers would've ended up with trench foot, too, Kitty- a lot worse than just getting cold feet or sand in your cossie (or 'togs' as I call them ;)).
Don't forget all the other lovely problems these blokes put up with- gastro, other illnesses and diseases, not to mention war wounds and the noise of the constant shelling..

Actually one of my favourite concertos if you really want to know. Second movement is All By Myself = sad. But wonderful uplifting in the final movement.

Thanks, allrighty. I actually googled it to see if there was any interpretation of it- didn't see the 'all by myself' bit because I got sidetracked in a discussion on world poverty and waste collection - lol- some group project that my son has spent hours on at Uni.

All the Unis now seem to have a 1st year engineering unit focusing on some 3rd world country's problem and how to solve it. Usually some sort of waste management- one son designed a product made from recyclable material, my second son is now designing a waste dump for a place in Cameroon. Hours and hours and hours of work- I'm sure you know how fascinating group work is. :)

Well I just watched that Youtube. Mesmerising, and the pianist is clearly enjoying it. Rach's 3rd is the one that did David Helfgott in.

Group work, often great fun and productive but always a hanger on or two.

lol- I listened to the first 5 minutes while chatting again- then forgot it was playing from your post and it stopped when I changed page :( Oh well, I can find it easily and listen later.

Group work would be fine if everyone pulled their weight and the Universities didn't have stupid rules.
Son 1 (5 years ago) did a project with his group. One boy spoke no English (and well may you ask wtf he was doing in an Australian University- you're meant to pass an English competency test before you're accepted- apparently UWA is full of non-English speaking kids also, according to my daughter). Anyway, they somehow got this boy to do his part of the group assignment but, when it came to oral presentations, because he didn't speak English and someone else in the group reported his work to the rest of the class on his behalf, the group failed. WTF!
