Good afternoon Docker! Doing well here, although, I keep thinking it's Caturday

Hi all, just took a break from uni exams (online) to pop in and see what's up.
What's with the banner advert down the bottom - it says SAMRAT indian restaurant - all you can eat.

Reminds me of when I was in Vietnam and fought the ex and daughter not to eat in a dodgy rooftop food joint.
So I'm sulking with a G&T (to kill germs) and watching them opposite, eat their "bargain" three dollar meal..
Just then a giant rat the size of elvis before he got fat, creeps along on the ledge behind them,
looks over their shoulder at his old meal, and toddles on, all the time in the world.

Don't RAT restaurant me BF !!

Honestly, am being completely serious am just not looking at it. Had NFI Freo was top, haven't even looked top 8.

Get ****ed the lotta ya. (lotta ya meaning top 8 teams)

:D
I haven't bothered for a few weeks now- ever since I looked after week 1 or 2 and couldn't see the Cats (the AFL site only shows the top 8 unless you click to see the full ladder, so I didn't bother clicking and now I just look at the top of the page for recent news :(

Yeah have been in that situation once. A Year 12 class, absolute shockers and the teacher began crying.

Massive awks.
We had a terrible situation when my son was in Year 12. Three of his friends died and another 2 were badly injured when one of the boys hit a tree with his car one night. (he wasn't drink driving- just hit a dip in the road too fast, veered over the other side of the road, popped his tyre, lost control, veered into a huge gumtree and wham!). The whole school was crying, teachers included, and the frigging media were staked out in the bushes- all spy-like- with their frigging telephoto lenses and all, photographing and videoing the teachers and kids through the classroom windows for the frigging 6pm news.
They staked out the kids' families' houses and they even put large white magnetic stickers over the logos on the doors of their cars, parked down the road at the primary school, and snuck through there to get their stories.

Fricken slimeballs, vultures, ectoplasms!!

This is just one of the reasons that I hate reporters and newscrews so much. They left their hearts outside the door of the Uni when they went into Journalism 101 classes, sadly.

(got a bit sidetracked- guess I was trying to say that it's OK to cry if everyone's doing it- if one person does it, for whatever reason, it becomes awkward.)

Hello Sam!!!
How are the exams going?? I hope you're sitting on 90+% ;)

The banner adverts change all the time- I just had a medibank one, now it says MacKeeper. Often they're specifically targeted, using websites you've visited. Should be bloody illegal, I reckon :(
I remember looking up something like where to buy dog food or something and, for the next week or more, I got bloody dog food ads on my banners all the freaking time!
You can get rid of the banners by buying a platinum membership.

Lolling at the inappropriate name for the Indian restaurant :D

OMG - you are right, never noticed it before, but they are TRACKING US. It's a bit sad that my current one is for retirement planning, since we are always checking our super online. The world's oldest student! Exams are sent from hell, so hard, I think because psychologists set them, they know that we know every trick in the book! getting inside brains. LOL

I know about the ghoulish media as well, my son was jumped in the street (by scum who were drugged up, just out of jail) , bashed unconscious, eye socket smashed and on the front page of the paper, bloodied and bruised. Channel 7 did their thing, and tried to make me feel guilty for refusing an on camera interview. However that pales in comparison to harassing an entire school of grieving children. I might have shot out their tyres on their unmarked spy car.

 That would have been terribly traumatic, Sam!! How sad! I am assuming that this was some time ago and that he is now recovered? Good on you for refusing to be interviewed. They have no right to invade the home - stakeout- of the victims of horrible tragedies like you and like our friends, just to sell their scummy sensationalist rag. They have no heart and they have no morals!

If I ever see a media car doing a stakeout again, I'll be sure to call you for backup. Bring your gun!! ;)

I've now got ads for Hotels and apartments. We went to Melb for a weekend in March, for my nephew's wedding. Must've triggered something in the hospitality industry.

Re son: Now physically okay, but no one ever recovers from that, a completely unprovoked assault, walking with his girlfriend, also struck. I applaud the media coverage, and courage, of the poor Sydney boy's parents on 60 minutes. They wanted to honour their son. So for all the scummy things they do to chase a story, occasionally they might do some good. Unfortunately that's what they quote at newly grieving people, so it's catch 22.

It's quite scary how they (the ads) can read your PC history, invasion of privacy really.
