I dont know anything about the stock market. I keep my money in a term deposit.

Good old days you got 6.5%- now it's like 2.8. Meh.

Yeah stay where you are if you prefer where you are. I'm living in a nice area, good rent (v good rent actually) and I know my flatmate does want me out (i can sense it haha), I do know there is no rush. This search can take a long time.
I've had about half my money sitting an account not even getting any interest whatsoever for a year :$ Might at sort that out this week..

Wtf mate?!?!?! Get to it.

I have this kid in Year 9- he's a little shit but a sweetie. He's showing me this cool af car he's going to save up and buy (50K I think) I'm like mate- get saving sooner rather than later. And no spending money on other shit if you want that car. Then I told him about term deposits. He wrote my advice down, lol was nice to teach a kid something practical for once.

I thought everything was completely sold out in my stock account managed before he got sick but I still have just a few k in value a mining company, that was worth like 20+k earlier in the year . With speculative stuff like that it could easily go either broke in a year or increase back in value 5 times. Maybe I should just do a George Costanza and go down with the ship ;)

True stupidly lazy but the interest rates are pathetic at the moment. Think I'll look at getting some advice on buying some blue chip stuff for the long term, if you diversify minimising risk you will get a lot more back than with the bank.

Once I had a 19 year old apprentice spend 20k on a brand new Corrolla. WTF. If you are gonna blow money on a car at least something half capable of being cool an attracting girls or something lol.

This kid will have no issues with the car he wants (ill ask him next time I see him)

He's pretty good looking kid too- he will be fighting them off when he's older.

So you had to do a bit of fielding on a ground that was a tad firm, you poor petal :) I bet it wasn't even hot either.
Oh you.

I’d be right to fly to WA and hit you with a rolled up newspaper but you’re all clueless (bite me Water Bottle you pencildick :p).

I'd reckon refresher every 2-3 years not 10 :p

Lmao 10 years.
Different place has new/refresh it just under the same $58

Good stuff. Schools teach next to nothing valuable in terms of life but you did something good here

no doubt the curriculum is stuffed in some places but "next to nothing valuable" is hyperbole surely?o_O
What I mean is simple things like teaching someone how to do their taxes should be taught mandatory and it isn't. That's something you basically need to know how to do for the rest of your life compared to most of the stuff you're taught and don't actually need to know at the end of the day.

From next year apparently you will have to go into the doc's to get a script for pain killers with any codeine in it (you know, the ones that actually do something) so no more otc just because it small % of imbeciles misuse them.
More money for the GP's and longer waiting time for the unlucky people who do the right thing smh

so you might not need to know something in later life but what about the people that actually do? in any case, the government has all it needs to pretty much do all your taxes for you but anyways...

Let me know when they start mandatory classes that teaches finance, real estate, property, driving & other essential life skills. There is so much information regarding all of the above a lot of people didn't know when leaving/finishing school and it should probably be forced in yr 10.

Most pharmacies had introduced a register where you had to give your driver's license number so they could keep track of how many people were taking, don't know why don't couldn't have been adopted everywhere instead.

I think preparing people for tertiary education takes priority. Imagine if a kid didn't get learn enough English say to continue that further coz his school had to fit in mandatory driving learning (something people have learnt without schools for a long time)
