If France don't qualify it will be a blessing in disguise, as it will probably mean the end of Domenech, one of the most stubborn and reactive coahes I've seen.

btw ribery was bloody awesome !!! was running his ass off but in the end it's the team that counts....

Got to agree.
Starts Govou, who probably did have their best chances in the 1st half, but they have far superior options not getting an opportunity. Didn't touch the ball in the 2nd half.
Brings on Gomis. Never seen him before (the boy is a freaking monster & quite a scary sight) but didn't look like a threat at all & apart from 1 nice dive - presented nothing.
Karin Benzema?
Won't even go into the midfield structure, only to say Ribery tried his guts out but just had no support.
Entertaining game, & France were unlucky not to become level early in the 2nd half. Clear penalty not given, Henry misses a one on one. It's funny because everyone will rave about the dutch yet despite the french set-up they made plenty of chances to get back in it.
The dutch goals were quality with some individual brilliance.
Arjen Robben is a genius. The french gave him far too much room & paid the price.

Reminded me of Spain vs Russia in the sense overall, the game was quite even, yet one team wins comprehensively.
Tough penalty to give too, as the linesman was on the wrong side and the ref would have to be 100% it hit arm, nigh on impossible given the pace of it and that Oojier's arm was more behind him than outstretched. He would be giving that on the basis of the French reactions, which he simply can't do.

Great game. The French had their chances and dominated for small periods of the game, however the Dutch controlled the game when it mattered. In both games their opponents have had chances - but if a team doesn't take them then it is goodnight. What I did like today was when France scored Nederland scored immediately thus effectively breaking any momentum the French had.
It would be interesting to see how they would react if they fell behind in a game - this is my only concern.
It will be interesting to see what their tactics will be against Romania and whom they rest - I would suggest that Van Basten will rest a number of key players. This will also give Romania a very good opportunity to win the game - meaning the end of both Italy and France.

I could actually see France still winning the thing.
Very easily. When it's really needed they have the tendency to get results.
One wonders though - Holland won't underestimate the quality of Italy and France and would very much like both of them out of their way. (lets be honest - would Holland beat either in a pressure knockout game?)
The side they send out against Romania (and they have every right and reason to do this) will be very weak and considering the way Romania's been playing it wouldn't be completely stupid to suggest that they qualify now.
So France beating Italy/their ability to win when its really needed may not matter.
France and Italy both have to bring this up. Suggest/imply that the Netherlands play within the spirit of the game. Just so people are looking and aware.
Oh and damn Italy, cost me about $60 last night.
Them and Croatia, my two favourite national teams doing wonders for me.
Fcuk i hate my alarm clock sounds like i missed out on a good game.

Well what a brilliant save by Buffon. Thats why he is in the top 3 goalkeeper's in the world if anyone doubted.
Shocking mistake by Zambrotta. His defence maybe to blame a bit as well if they didnt talk to him and let him know Mutu was lerking. Very sharp finish by Mutu it must be said though.
It seems like Cassano for Perrotta was the wrong player to bring off. Del Piero would have been a better option to keep the team balence they had. Cassano has been great both times he has come on.
Netherlands v France
Get on the bandwagon it seems. They are playing some hot effective stuff. Real Madrid players leading the way more so Sneijder man. What an excellent two games he has had. Super super goal nothing Coupet could do. Maybe he could have done more for Robben's although it was hit that hard im not sure what. Super sub performance by him and Ryan van Persie. Ruud is playing perfectly as the lone striker. Doing everything you would want. Turning his man, holding it up, giving off good passes with a guy up his anil. His 360 pass in the lead of to ryan van persie's goal was brilliant.
They have beaten both world cup finalists comprehensivly and all the injured players are hot to trot now with a bit of game time under their belts.
WTF Boulahrouz talk about lifting for your country. He has been borderline manure for clubs over the last few seasons yet he plays like this for the national team. What a transformation. Whats his current club status? Chelsea still own him?
Gees that would be going mental in Eindhoven and Amsterdam!!

they just sold him IIRC but every website i find says he is still owned by chelsea.. i could have sworn they finally sold him on after he did bugger all for sevilla this year...
He made it look shit because he saved it. If buffon had of dived to his right it would have been a great penalty because it would have won them the game. But Buffon didnt and so it's a shit onenow.
