What are our predictions for tonight?

I'm tipping Spain by 2+ goals against Russia. The Russians are missing too many good players, Arshavin in particular, and Spain seem to always raise everybody's hopes that "this is the year" in the first game of the tournament.

Sweden should be able to get past Greece, I think. This game is crucial, as I think the winner (if there is one) will join Spain in the quarter finals.

Yeah a bit harsh but they generally finish around 5th to 10th place so they are slightly better than middle of the road.

I was going to comment on Engelaar and de Jong, who are absolute no-names compared to the Italy (or should that be Milan) midfield but by all reports did an outstanding job. Engelaar is already 28 so that may inhibit his chances of a move to a bigger club, but with Twente in CL qualifying it might be best for him to stay anyway.

Dirk did look good in the highlights too. He's already leading the goal assists.

However, the performance the other night was very uninspiring. Much improvement needed.

They'll get out of their group I'd expect.

A probable quarter final with Portugal. A less likely meeting in the quarters with the Turks or the Czechs.

For me, they have a decent chance of going and getting a "semi"

Besides the one Russian chance, Spain have dominated.

Spain very lucky not to be down early, they looked awful. That Torres set up was very lucky, I though Kolodin did well to barge him off the ball but his backheel clearance hit Torres and that was that. Confidence up, Russias down at hame over.
