I can't stop thinking Huntelaar's overrated. The Dutch league is no longer what it was a few years ago.

If Van Nistelrooy would get injured, I think van Basten would start with Kuyt as a lone striker.

Why would you move the best RW in the world? ;) :p

KJH scores goals. You can't argue with goals. ;)

Kuyt as a lone striker? Asking for trouble IMO.

Why did Nasri only play 15 minutes? Injured as well or some crazy tactical change?
Nasri came on for Ribery, before the red card. Once the red card came out instead of taking Benzeama off, they took off Nasri.

Anyone watched any games at a pub (in Melbourne)? If so, where?

Possible venues: http://au.setanta.com/portal/systemcontent/pubchannelpart1#event_3_venues

Would like to see a couple games, just don't know who's open at those hours :confused:

He is correct. Sweden have a better GD (4th tiebreaker), better GF (5th tiebreaker), better GA (irrelevant), better UEFA Coefficient (7th tiebreaker). Smartguy.

See Section V, Paragraph 7.07 of the Regulations of the UEFA European Football Championship 2006/08 (pdf) and Euro 2008 wiki:

According to the official UEFA rules for the tournament, the following tie-breaking criteria will apply, in this order, should two or more teams from the same group finish with an equal number of points. In keeping with previous European championships, the head to head record between the tied teams takes precedence over goal difference.

1. Number of points earned in matches between the teams in question;
2. Goal difference in matches between the teams in question;
3. Goals scored in matches between the teams in question;
4. Goal difference in all group matches;
5. Goals scored in all group matches;
6. In cases where exactly two teams are equal in all previously listed critera and play one another to a draw in their final group match,[14] kicks from the penalty mark will be conducted in lieu of the remaining criteria;
7. Coefficient from the qualifying competitions for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008 (points obtained divided by the number of matches played);
8. Fair play conduct of the teams in the group stage;
9. Drawing of lots.

Turkey v Czech Republic at 2-2 was heading for ET until Turkey scored in the 89th.

Yep, so you're incorrect.

It's the first tie-breaker

There's a reason there's more than one.

If it's a draw, it goes to the second tie-breaker, which is goal difference.

Just reading through that all slowly and carefully, I think I am indeed wrong, and tiebreaker 4 would apply: Goal difference in all group matches.

I could have sworn that they said that Turkey v Czech Republic at 2-2 the other day was headed for ET/P.

Anyone else confirm I'm wrong?

It was headed for penalties because every single one of those criteria was equal between those two sides.

You really need some education

1) Irrelevant as their points will be split as it is a draw
2) Irrelevant as it is a draw, there is no GD
3) Irrelevant as it is a draw, both teams scored the same.
4) GD in all group matches.

You think I didn't know all these rules already? Common knowledge these days imo.

Naah, it's all cool.

I was sure I knew the rules, but like many uninformed people, I had not done any research to confirm what I thought I knew.

I got there in the end, and I'm now informed :thumbsu: (and a bit less of a douche) :D.

damn just got the news our coach is neither allowed to be in the coaching zone 2moro nor is he allowed to communicate with any of the players or the co coach in any way :(
