You probably did what I did. Set my alarm to 2:30 in the afternoon as opposed to 2:30 in the morning. Sounds like I missed a good game. I dont care much for the next game on tomorrow. Waiting for Spain vs Italy now

Ronaldo was decent enough. It's a bit hard when you've got no-one to cross/pass to in the box. Portugal lack a quality striker.

He wouldn't be the only one from Portugal to take ridiculous shots from outside the box either.

Portugal haven't had a quality striker since Eusebio.

As for Ronaldo, I can only go on what I've heard and read so I'm happy to take your word for it. I think Simao was their biggest disappointment over the whole tournament.

Thoughts on tomorrow's game folks? I originally tipped Croatia but now I'm leaning to Turkey. Might have a greater cutting edge with Nihat up front.

Croatias midfield is way too strong for Turkey I think. Billic wont let his team choke like the Czechs did

Germany outplayed Portugal in every area of the pitch, was a great game.

How can you say that The Germans were better in the first 30 mins but then Portugal took over and were just less lucky with their opportunities. Germany's 3rd came out of nowhere. The game went their way, that's all.

All well and good saying 'obvious foul' with the aid of television replays, but you'd have to have extremely good eyesight to pick that up full speed with no replay.

Now that is not my problem

Seriously, they've been told to keep an eye on the pushing and pulling in the penalty area this tournament. Don't know where the ref was, but he could've been in a position where he would've spotted the push like so many refs do all year long.

I want the Turks to beat the Croats, I'd be less confident against Croatia than I was against Portugal.

The recommended position from FIFA in those situations is pretty much the top corner of the 18 yard area (side opposite assistant).

They've done numerous tests and apparently that's the area that you have the best view of the whole box/are most likely to spot things going on in the box.

I personally think that better positions can be taken up sometimes but who are we to disagree with FIFA eh?
