Fyfe/Cale Morton is a more apt comparison
I'm assuming you're referring to Haynes? If we're to take him here's hoping he's more like Fyfe than Morton.

subbed for potential.
hoping for grigg at 30.
Anything is a chance really. One bonus of the reverse top 10 is we are the 2nd pick twice in a row. Won't need to wait long to find out our players. Going to be interesting what names are called out at 10,9 and 8. Those should give away the rest of the top 10 pretty much.
Hey mate, we're pick 8, so we're the 3rd pick called (10, 9, 8)... but yeah, not long to wait.
Would much rather wait the 8 and be able to calculate it though, rather than hear who we got and spend the next minute trying to figure out what the higher picks would've been... hate the stupid countdown.

I can count, really i can
I would still much prefer the normal order, just trying to salvage what i can from the pointless reverse top 10. I just don't understand why they don't try something else. Americans have mastered the draft with their sports, and they don't do a stupid reverse top 10. We would be better off doing normal order, and doing a jumper presentation for each pick as it happens if they want to make a big deal out of it.

I can see why they like the idea of a reverse countdown, and can even see how it could be considered a good idea in normal draft years. When one team has the top 5 picks, though, it's completely pointless. There's no drama or suspense about who could go at pick 1 at all, because it really doesn't matter. Definitely should've been dropped for this year.
With the reverse count down you lose that real time feel for what's happening. It's a bit like arriving at a movie 15 minutes late and having someone fill you in.
For example, last year we were tossing up between Polec and Heppell, but the reality of that decision making process was lost because we already knew Heppell was gone.
Just watched the Nick Haynes video. Was actually quite impressed.
Reads the play really well, one touch, brings teammates into the game, tackles like a machine.
He's not quick though.

......Can we get another 'we're drafting him so get used to it' speech this year BD, ala Dyson Heppel last year?![]()
