TAC Cup Future Stars have us taking Viney, Grundy and Nathan Hrovat in their phantom.

If we have to take Viney at #3, I'd much rather we spent #4 on a midfielder. If we get him late, than take however many ruckmen you want.

Agreed, but I still think GWS and GC will pass on Viney. It's all smoke and mirrors.

Absolutely right. And obviously so, of course. After all, it's been abundantly clear right throughout the year that our midfield's been the big weakness killing us in every match.

The list of players who are putting doubt on GC and GWS bidding and us accepting him at 3:
Toumpas, Grundy, Mayes ,Macrae, Stringer, Hogan, Martin

Then players such as Wines and Plowman

This list truly seems to long to nominated Viney with out doubt we wont just take 2 players who are genuinely considered better?

Aidan Franetic (Oakleigh) - no particular reason, just like the epic surname. Kicked a goal and was in the best for Oakleigh today, according to the match report.

He was actually very impressive!

His name reminds me too much of Metallica's "masterpiece" St. Anger. I'd sit there all day at the games going "Franetic.. Tic Tic Tic Tok!"

Maybe that'd be what the fans can call out whenever he gets the ball ala 'Breuuuusttt', 'Toooooovey' and 'Kreeeuuuuzer'.

With the horrible Lars Ulrich snare drum sound from that album playing over the loud speakers every time he gets a touch... ;)

Maybe the trumpeter can melt down his trumpet and form that into a drum, or something that could have the shit belted out of it. I'm sure that would suffice.

If only I lived in Melbourne... I've got a big bass drum at home here, as well as a snare, plus a Brazilian samba drum that's equally huge :)

Nick Graham - at least the equal best midfielder on the ground IMO, if Gippy had won he would have the TAC Cup medal.

Looks set to land somewhere in the 2nd round but could be a bargain there IMO.

I dont really care who they draft this year but i just hope that the recruiters do some serious research on each of the hopefuls, not just talking to their parents. Go visit their school teachers, their friends, the ex girlfriend, the after school job boss, the junior footy coach, find out his work ethic and what kind of person he is. I couldnt stand another low draft pick that is a sook, soft as butter college boy that cant get tough when the heat is applied.

Or the best midfielder on the ground; Jackson Macrae.

Watched his game yesterday (and am re-watching it now) and he is the exact type of midfielder we need. Long and accurate kick, very good pace and endurance, not afraid of a contest, great footy sense and kicks goals. While he's an outside midfielder/half-forward pretty much solely at this point, I would hope that Neeld can work an inside game into him.

He's going to win games off his own boot. In fact, he did yesterday... :thumbsu:

Would you be happy with we used pick 13 on him or would that be too high?

I know that question wasn't for me but yes, I would be happy to use Pick #13 on him. I feel as though our first two picks are a bit high for him but, in the end, what do I know?

Viney is almost a certainty to drop to the 2nd round.

This draft either sets us up for future consistent success :)

or

its the Last Chance Saloon :(

Probably the big one, played a great game last night too. Kicked three goals and his third was a cracker on his left, 30m out in the left forward pocket.

The other one who's been touted is Ben Saunders. Medium-sized forward who's leading the goal kicking at the moment from Ashley Hansen, although Saunders has played 6-7 more games than Hansen this season.

Melbourne are very keen on Adam Carter, with good reason.
