Still alot of water to go under the bridge before it happens and, again, Twitter rumours are never that flash. If Tippett decides he wants to go back to GC then we are in the box seat to get him in the second round. There is still much to happen between now and then.

He's not, but we won't get near Boyd next year and somebody will take Hogan this year as a MD pick. So if Neeld wants another big aggressive KPF then Hogans our man. I'm not wrapped either as we need Mids, but with another top 5 pick next year we can take another top mid then.

I'm just not sure on the whole thing, given the word is we're interested. One, Hogan's probably not worth our pick four - thirteen wouldn't suffice - and two, Fitzpatrick's done okay, Watts is doing well and there's also Cook and Sheahan (hate to pile a rookie and a top draftee together, but meh) coming along okay, so on a needs basis...I don't see it.

Unless Neeld wants Jack Martin. That, I'm down for. Very much down for.

Seriously screw the mini draft. I'm gonna be really annoyed if we give up 3 or 4 in this strong draft just for an apparent top 5 talent in next years draft. Seems ridiculously stupid to me. If we could get Hogan for pick 13 or something maybe but it is absolutely insane that we'd be going after some 17 year olds. That's just setting us back another year and it's not like there's an O'Meara in this MD.

Well we can select Crouch with pick 2. I mean there's nothing to say we have to take Martin or Hogan but even at 13 in this draft i feel like we can get a really good player.

Look, he's an absolute rake - no question ...

But he's a much better contested player than Cale ever was - he's more a Daisy Thomas type than a Morton type.

Near 200cm, and weights in at +100kg. Very much a man child, but with his physical dimensions he is going to be a beast.

Haven't seen him play this year, but is probably the number 1 pick for 2013 by all accounts.

Macrae is good but there are better mids then him that'll be available at pick 4, one of Toumpas or O'Rouke will be there, O'Rouke is a seriously good player, he is the most damaging midfielder in this draft and I reckon there is nothing between him at Whitfield for number one. If he is picked up after our pick 4 we will be hearing about it for years to come. And also his style compliments Jack Viney's, they would work great together.

The residual 2 of Toumpas, Grundy an O'Rourke will be very satisfying imo.

No need to mess about with our early picks unless we get a very attractive offer.

I just had a look over on the West coast Board mock draft, we landed all three of them, but we didn't take Viney

I remember reading an article that said 'Melbourne have probably got the best player in the draft (Morton)'. So just because he is talked up as a quality player, doesn't necessarily mean it will translate into AFL

What do you mean he didn't have a great year? I thought he was brilliant, thats why I rate him so high. And then finding out that he led the TAC cup with the best kicking efficiency out of all the midfielders sold it for me. We desperately need players than can kick.
