Yeah, I'd take him. He's an upgrade on Bennell and Strauss.

My gut feeling is that our pick 13 will end up at the Gold Coast, and may be used as part of their package to get Tippett. It may also have a bearing on whether GC nominate Viney.
 
Brett Peake and dean polo delisted by saints ... I wouldnt say no to Peake just for his experience in successful teams alone.

Couldn't work out if the article meant that we've already signed Monfries, or if we've signed A small forward. I guess they left that ambiguity there on purpose to cover both bases haha.
 
The article says it's all part of Neeld's "ambitious plans to rapidly rise into finals contention". Given he stated in his recent interview with AFL Insider that there's no quick fixes and our revival is a long journey I'm not giving this article any credence at all.

Yeah, good point.

Early on in his career that was his role - but maybe that explains why he was very in and out of the team for a while.

Someone like Todd Banfield should be on our 'Trade-dar'.

Would be delighted to get either Monfries and Pearce - even better if we could both. Even Byrnes would be a useful pick-up.

All of them have decent foot skills and would replace list cloggers like MacDonald, Bate and Dunn who cannot deliver the ball 20m to a target. They also have been in the system a while too, we need those players who have 100 odd games under their belt.

No, that ambiguity is there because Hagdorn is a completely shit writer. Fair dinkum, half that article doesn't even make sense. I've seen better writing from high school students.
