Bring it on maggots!

2013 is a completely new year/new start, so how do we know who is going to be top notch and who isn't?

I'm stoked to be playing some big and powerful clubs, at very important stages of the season.

However I am disappointed that we do no get any of Carlton, Essendon, or Richmond twice. I would have loved to of played Richmond at the MCG again.... epic game, electric atmosphere, great weather, yet they decide to schedule it at docklands next year?

This fixture offers excitement and i can't wait for 2013. We may have eight six day breaks, but none are back to back. Boomer will playing in the friday night games..it's all good.

but would swap our draw with sydneys in a heartbeat,AFL have looked after their lovechild alright as far as i can see, premiers draw <<<< 8th position draw
But if you're trying to launch GWS as a success, Swans have to be successful to make it work, so no doubt the AFL will do everything they can to help them make finals and win flags.
Same goes for GWS over the next 10 years. No surprise to me.

Scott: Bring on the best

Brad Scott never likes to dwell on the negatives and he’s continuing that approach when it comes to assessing North’s 2013 draw. While many have rated it the League’s worst, Scott has welcomed it with open arms.

“There’s no doubt it’s a challenge but to be the best, you’ve got to beat the best so we welcome the opportunity to play on the big stage against big opposition,” Scott told kangaroos.com.au.

“If we’re good enough, we’ll get to the pointy end of September.”

Until somebody comes up with a better solution regarding establishing an "even FIXture" there will be people complaining.......honestly its embarrassing that we have this great sport with huge following around the entire country but its compromised in a way to maximise profits through the TV dollar .......... Hawthorn, Doggie supporters are up in arms.
What has good ol Eddie Maguire had to say on the topic can anyone fill me in ??
Like nearly every club president sells their mother in efforts to play Collingwood in primetime TV time slots. And you look at Carltank they dont deserve the amount of friday night games but somehow manage to score more than their fair share of them throughout the season.
The exposure that these two clubs get alone guarantees a never ending supply of new members every year. which is a vicious circle for clubs like ours, doggies etc that cant afford.
Just wait and see how Hawthorn travel when they start to bottom out...........I bet they´ll be crying poor when the time comes. There´s a trickling ammount now .

Where is this more Friday nights spin coming from?

We have one more on our home turf. We're surely not considering a Friday in PERTH as a salute from the AFL?

Why not? It's the prime FTA slot of the week. If we're going to have to play at Subi, wouldn't we rather it be in front of the biggest possible national audience? Kind of guarantees at least an 8 day break back from Perth too.

I've been waiting years for a fixture like this. Playing the big guns more often and becoming capable of doing so. Most of the big write ups in the paper come after prime saturday and sunday slots. Perform and make the finals with the same exciting brand of footy we played this year we will likely see more friday nights the following year and have more nuetrals tuning in. Can't wait til the pies round 1

The issue with this debate is also that there is a presumption that teams that were good last year will be good this year and vice versa.

When the draw came out prior to last year, everyone was saying NM and Adelaide were easybeats, a perception that changed through the year.

Who knows, Hawthorn may slide or Collingwood may have it's depth tested next year.

The answer begins and ends with .... North Melbourne.

So how many wins does everyone think we can get in 2013?
It's a hard fixture, but I'm actually tipping 15 wins.
I think we will split the games with Hawthorn & Collingwood.
We will beat Sydney in Hobart & West Coast in Perth (finally)
Bring it on!

Big call! Sydney down in Hobart I reckon we're a chance to pull off, but our last game over at Subiaco was absolutely woeful.

I put 2 and 2 together yesterday. Is the AFL hoping we debut Maj on the Friday night against the Eagles so its the Maj vs NicNat??

Eagles would be the last team I would debut Maj for.

3 Friday night matches - let's show the AFL we deserve more. If we are absolute shit vs West Coast @ Patersons, we probably will never get 3 again..

Excited that we got Geelong & Adelaide twice - will be interested to see if those clubs retain their positions on the ladder. Collingwood and Hawthorn should remain thereabouts.

Happy we only got West Coast & Sydney once - those two combined with Hawthorn are the 3 hardest teams for us - big bodies, experienced, well drilled team etc

If we play like many believe we can, this will be a great draw with wins + crowds. Don't know if we are currently 'there' yet though

It is hilarious watching the Hawks supporters bitch and whinge like a bunch of old molls. Their draw is no harder than ours, and they were in the Grand Final for Christ's sake. That one flag in five years for the 'best team, flag favourites, etc etc etc' is starting to make them look like under achievers, hence their wanting an easy draw I guess.
