My main concern with all of this talk is nobody seems to know if Deledio has actually done a medical with Geelong, if they are just trying to recruit him based on reputation then they have lost the plot, for all we know he could fail the medical and then we would have wasted all this time trying to recruit while missing out on other potential players.

Be assured, medicals would be a prerequisite.

Geelong wouldn't recruit someone with suspect legs and probable management issues for the rest of their career ..would they?

Doing medicals only go so far.. I think you can usually find a reason to do it or not do it.. depending on what you really want to do.

When was the last time we were interested in a player.. and stopped dead after the medical?

Last week I hated the idea of Caddy for Deledio, now I'm warming to it a lot.
We have SS, Mengola, Duncan, Guthrie and now Deledio to go through the middle
Caddy on the forward flank is ok, but Deledio On the forward flank is elite.
He's skills are better, his outside game is stronger.
Deledio has the tendency to kick bags of 2 or more
In 2014 he kicked 2 or more and had over 20 touches in 6 games
3 of those games he had over 26 and the other 2 games he had over 29 including a 29 and 3 goal game against the swans.
So he actually plays these good games against strong opposition.

In 2015 he kicked 2 or more 7 times.
Including 3 games of which he kicked 3 goals.
1 game he kicked 4 against the Hawks and had 18 touches, another strong performance against a strong team.

In 2016 he only played 9 games but had a return of 2 games in which he kicked 3 goals in each.

He gets a strong amount of tackles, something I wasn't aware of until I am looking up his stats now.
In 2013 he averaged 3.7 tackles a game
2014 2.7
2015 3.1
2016 3.5

So from what I have gathered he brings up another great option up forward and someone to swap Danger with to rest.
Can bring in some forward line pressure and his disposal efficiency has been above 70% for the past 3 seasons
Averages over 300 meters gained over the past 3 seasons.
Averages around 4 inside 50's over the past 5 season.

So after all that I have come to the conclusion of I want Deledio in the blue and white hoops next season.

Of course. He would be taking unders for a chance at the flag.
And if media is to be believed he want to be paid more than Danger. I said on here the other day something to the gist..if he came here and said Please just pick me , Im not worried about money at the start till i show how much I worth..just get me in.. but if as reported thats not the case. Linked to Melb now?

Ahern has had injuries but Ros can't go wrong for pick 69. He was very highly rated as a junior and went pick 7. More chance than what they would otherwise have picked there.
Shows Giants will trade for peanuts cats still haven't been involved in any giant trades.

Well yeah that sucks. Should be a 2 year deal to see how he plays (and attitude) then once we have a bit more cap space we can up his salary.

Hamish McIntosh, Mitchell white and Mitch clark also had elite seasons more than one season before we drafted them and they were all younger than Deledio. The past isnt necessarily a great indicator of the future for old and injured players.

Are the Hawks clearing cap space to make a play for Rockliff? Or maybe loading up for Fyfe next season? I just can't make sense of what they're doing. The moves they have made this trade period seem completely inexplicable on the face of it.

The flog fest about the hawks on Trade radio is laughable... They are carrying on like this week everything has fallen into place and they can still win next years flag. Clarko can do no wrong in anyones eyes, it is sickening. If they cant get Omera right, they are in all sorts

LOL
Not one of those listed players played more than even 2 years of strong football, Deledio has done it for 10 years
Clark and McIntosh had massive injury problems for several years and then we recruited them.
Deledio has had half a season of it and you are ruling him out?

Even if they had cap space how are they going to trade for them? They have given up next years first and this years first assuming they trade pick 10 for omera. They can't trade their 2018 first as a result of the rule. They have nothing left except players and Fyfe ain't gonna come cheap in terms of player trades.

Deledio is older. Even if he wasn't injured (and he has admitted himself he has injury concerns) his age alone means there is a high risk his form will fall away. Age is especially not kind to players who have relied on their pace to be elite.

And some players it's hasn't changed them at all, obviously less than players age has effected.
Would love to see where Deledio said he's worried about his body for my own piece of mind
