So if we did the deal and effitictivly ended up with Deledio and Touhey for Caddy
2 players who fit our needs would you be opposed to the deal?
I would be.

Trade a 2nd rounder for tuohy and the equivalent for lids. Keep caddy.

I think if we could get delids and touhy, for caddy and our second rounder. We would do that every day of the week. Caddy out, gives cocka and lang the opportunity to play regular midfield minutes. Lids, touhy and thurlow come back in. easily improves our best 22. Whilst it hurts to give up a young mid gun, I think we have more of those types.

Get the deal done.

I meant surely he wouldn't go to the pies. Didn't he turn down a massive offer from the doggies a couple of years ago? He would still be best 22 for Geelong next year right?
He turned down the dogs because he thought our list was closer to a flag in his remaining years. When the offer came in he sat with a couple of the Cats boys and they told him they wouldn't be upset if he took the cash. He decided to stay, but said that he would have gone to Gold Coast if they had have offered the same amount as Footscray.

What's this St Kilda reaping the rewards of Hawthorn's inneptitude? I haven't been following what other clubs are getting in all of this :D
Hawthorn has landed pick 10 in a swap with St Kilda.

The Hawks have given the Saints their first-round pick in 2017, as well as picks 23 and 36 in this year's draft.

St Kilda has given Hawthorn picks 10 and 68.

Did we trade a top 22 player for Scott last year? Same prognosis for fitness, vice captain etc etc and yet we didn't give up such a valuable commodity.

Did Deledio just become a FA as Scooter was last year all of a sudden?

I wouldn't be. Sounds like a win to me ...
IN: two mature gun players who fit our needs very well for the next couple of years while our premiership window is likely to be open
OUT: one younger player who has more career left but whose type we can cover pretty comfortably and who anyway in 6 years in the AFL hasn't reached the heights we were all hoping he would

One major problem with having all three, as I understand it, is the salary cap. I imagine that Caddy going out would probably free up a few $$$ to bring the other two in on.

Good chance that Hawks next years first will be as good or better than number 10. Saints have basically been given two freebie second rounders.
