Cocky extended contract too.

They are just stupid fishing.

Dumb... just stupid dumb. Like Hawks 4 picks for 10 and 26 dumb.
Dumb like clearing the top 2 in your BnF dumb
Dumb like getting rid of the top 2 clearance players you had last year.

All for a bloke with no knee and footy for the last 2 years....

Perhaps we just stop talking to them.

You know, like they have done to Adelaide.

Deledio deal has been canned guys, its pretty obvious, let him stay at that rabble for another year then next year they can get nothing for him when he walks out the door. Tuohy deal also looks to be heading same way...greedy bloody clubs wanting way overs for players is ridiculous.
If we take him for free next year wont that just dilute our compo for Motlop?

Interesting that the Hendo for your future first trade last year went so smoothly...clearly planned from a long way out.

I assume Tuohy requesting trade to Geelong has taken us by surprise, given there seems to have been no pre-planning or groundwork done at all and it's all being made up right now.

I would not be bothered if trade week finished today and all we got were a few picks in the 40s for Kersten and Vardy.

Would be quite happy to go back with the same group next year, minus Enright but with Thurlow back and maybe just maybe we might find a player in the draft or one who is already on the list (Parsons) who can have a surprising impact.

It only went smoothly because we bended over. Hopefully we don't do that this time.

Hawks being investigated for the Vickery deal. This just keeps getting better and better
Nothing will happen but perhaps a new rule or two needs to be added. IF Vickery gets 200 a year for a 3rd year within the next 2 years..then then the afl have been done over. Maybe you shouldn't be able to lower the wage of FA's once on your list ..probably too difficult to work.

What's the query, in a nutshell?
Doubt there is one. Surely the AFL knew about the whole contract from the start?!?! I assume they would otherwise how can Richmond potentially match terms?

I suspect they didn't expect the uproar. I doubt anything will happen, what are they going to do? Admit they stuffed up, give Richmond another three days from now to match with potentially different compensation?? Richmond a struggling team would just get stuffed, I doubt they would match.

The last time I looked , it was our fault Adelaide could get a deal done with Carlton.. not much action today.. unless something moves its going to get very busy the next couple of days
Now I'm confused.

Was or wasn't our fault they could or couldn't get a deal done?

I think you've missed the intent of the post.

Carlton reportedly stopped talking to Adelaide over the Gibbs deal because they felt Adelaide weren't taking the dealings seriously enough.

I'm suggesting that Carlton asking for Cockatoo in exchange for an uncontracted Tuohy also aren't being serious so we should stop talking to them like they did to Adelaide.

Or perhaps the joke just wasn't funny...which is highly likely. ;)

my reading of it was that hawthorns initial offer would have landed richmond a third round compensation pick which would have meant richmond matched the offer and kept him... so hawthorn re-arranged their offer to ensure the tigers a second round compensation pick, satisfying them and they therefore didnt match the offer.

What's the query, in a nutshell?
Leading up to the trade period the industry and other clubs believed Vickery was going to be offered a three year deal, Hawks intitially released a statement saying that they had signed him to a three year deal but later changed it to a 2 year deal to ensure Richmond would get a 2nd round pick and not match the offer like they threatened to do if compo wasn't good enough
