I really rate what gws continue to do with there list.
Anderson, O'rourke, jencsh, Phillips, plowman, marchbach, Tsyon, Garlett etc etc the list goes on.
Have a look for a few years and make a decision, then trust their judgement to ship them off for good currency early while they still have decent value.
Sure they have a lot more talent to do so with but they certainly trust their judgement.
Also really helps with salary cap pressure.
So many list around the afl including ours are putting so much time into players that never make it, then get shipped off years later for scraps or delist them.
Murdoch, smedts, vardy, kersten, Ghs, etc etc
3 years ago might have gotten 3 or 4 decent 2/3 round picks for.
Now lucky to get a third round combined for them all.
Thoughts for the future? I think it will become a trend in the afl soon like in the NFL.
Sure there will be the odd josh Kennedy but far more than likely Richard Tamlings and Mitch thorpes.
