Hmmmm! How do we get these players when our salary cap is bursting at the seams & we are not making any room by moving any players on?
Boris GONE
Jimmy expected to be gone
Vardy going
Kersten going
Lonners could also go
I wouldn't be surprised if one of JM, GHS or BS leave

Plenty of cap space going

I'm really stressing that we'll do something stupid like trade Cockatoo, can't wait till the deals are done.
Only player not already seeking a trade who I'd be willing to cough up is Smedts - though the Blues would baulk at that (understandably so) and we'd additionally need to trade out further picks/players. Our draft position isn't that strong in the 2nd/3rd rounds and I'd be hesitant to give up anything there. Any deal might need to involve swapping picks with another club ala St Kilda + Hawthorn.

Otherwise, let him walk to the PSD. Carlton know Tuohy wants to move here, so they're playing with fire by demanding overs.

Darcy Lang should go.
We have too many players of his size and position. He didn't get games in the finals for that reason.

Would get more opportunities at Carlton.

Very frustrated.
Geelong boy.
Starred in last VFL games.
Will be a gun.
At Geelong, hoping.

Remember, 12 months ago the Suns were playing hardball over Zac Smith. They ended up trading him for 49 & 53.

A Tuohy deal will get done once the Blues stop posturing and start working on a reasonable deal instead of making outrageous demands to appease their supporters.

I don't think they were playing hardball, they just had to clear other things before they could let the trade go through. At the time they were negotiating with North for Currie. Once they had an agreement with North that pick 53 would get them Currie. They agreed to do the trade with us.

Backload contracts-more retirements next year and we have a couple headed by motlop who are FAs. More of the fringe player contracts expire next year so makes it easier to move them on (harder this year when most are contracted).

I think it's going to be interesting. I think it's going to be hard to get any decent picks.

I could see us say getting picks 34 and 35 off Freo and WCE using pick upgrades but not sure we can move much further up.

So really we have 3 picks in the 30s (2 this year, 1 next). Not sure how that satisfies either but Wells is better than me so I trust.

Lang was a first round pick for a reason. Bartel going starts to free up opportunities for the likes of Lang and Cockatoo and they will benefit from game time alongside the bigger boys in the middle.
