Tipping all that will happen is Caddy to the tigers for whatever pick we get. stealing JOM from under the Hawks nose would be almost as good as beating them in a GF.
I agree with that however all GC want is a 1st round pick and a player.

If we could move H-S on or another willing player with potentially pick 15 for Caddy for JOM that would be a huge win for us again this year.

We'll go into 2017 weaker than we were in 2016 and with another first round pick poured down the drain.
I know mate..............been thinking the exact same thing. Everyone but US has been active.
On the upside, we got rid of Smedts

Can someone explain why we'd even be contemplating a contracted Caddy for 24 or 27?

I can't understand it on any level.
They must rate Kerr highly and assume he'll still be around at that selection. He fills more of a need than Caddy.

That's my take.

She's quite good. Really knowledgeable on U/18 players, future draft picks etc.
Agree, but her GFC track record hasn't been great. In her Phantoms every year she seems to be nowhere near the mark with our selection - apart from the Cockatoo selection which just about all of Australia knew in advance.

I wouldn't say she's 'knowledgeable' but I would say she has good contacts - perhaps not at GFC though.

Maybe he really wants to go?
Maybe his knee is preety chronic?
Rumors of split with player group are true?
Just guesses. I dunno. There's gotta be a good reason you would think.

She got Thurlow spot on for our first round pick when no one else had him in the top 30.

There's only one reason I can think of and that is salary cap - hence why we wouldn't do the swap for Deledio because we'd be in a worse salary cap position.

Who the F is Emma Quayle?

Is she the new Caroline Wilson?
They can both fn p1$$ off
TFW the same "experts" who were certain that Caddy was worth Deledio and a second rounder haven't heard of the most respected trade and draft journalist in the land...

Glad to see some sensible follow up posts from other Cats supporters though :thumbsu:

Salary cap?? We just lost 4 players.

Deledio will only be on 500k at GWS too apparently.

We could have afforded that.

I'm in the same boat.

On Day 1 of the trade period Wells said we'd struggle to do the Deledio deal because we didn't have currency and wouldn't trade required players.

Don't know how we've gone from that to potentially trading a contracted Caddy for pick 27, and not even landing Deledio.

She also got Menzel spot on and said if Guthrie was available we'd take him.

She is very knowledgeable. Her book on the draft is a ripper.
