All makes me think we are taking a Freo player. Not sure who.

The cap issues might be a problem but surely can't be that bad after all those outs. Something must be lined up.

Salary cap?? We just lost 4 players.

Deledio will only be on 500k at GWS too apparently.

We could have afforded that.
We will have to pony up a pretty large chunk of lids salary at gws but we can afford to. In return they pay slight overs which will be pick 13 or 15. You guys didn't have the same currency otherwise we could have done a similar deal.

Caddy for 24 or 27 or whatever is a massive win for us and therefore makes no sense unless your cap is bursting and in fairness you are flush with inside mids so no great loss for you guys imo

If we get pick 24 or 27 surely there has to be a player attached to the deal.
Maybe a Lennon? Don't really want him.

Or most likely picks 24 & 27 with the cats passing back pick 38 or 40 & Caddy.

Either way anything under a R1 pick for Caddy is unders.
Unless we have become a charity, the whole thing seems completely ludicrous.

It won't be both 24 & 27 involved in the deal - Quayle is reporting Cats want 24 and Tigers are only offering 27.

We've dumped 2m worth of salary. Where did it go?

Freo trade is dragging and they want to keep picks. It's all odd.

I agree on where did all the money go, but still not sure how you come up with the Freo link.
Unless we are paying Zac Touhey $2 million bucks a year, I want to know why we couldn't get a decent trade done with all the money available, and on the back of a preliminary final.
It's not only odd, its un Wells like, and it's as poor a trade period as I can ever remember for Geelong

To get a first round draft pick for Deludio, Richmond will be paying a fair chunk of his contract (he's on an estimated 800k).
If GWS are paying 500k, that's a 300k black hole Richmond have to fill.
That's leverage which we simply don't / didn't have to use.

I'd like to see the GWS books. Their cap must be getting tight like the rest of us.
Same thing as Griffen they will trade the other club paying his salary for picks. AFL should cap how much of your player's salaries you can have paid by another club.

I prefer the old way.....where a contract meant something, and both sides honoured them
I guess I'm a just an old romantic

We just saved 300k with Bartel retiring.

Plus Boris, Kersten & Vards and now Smedts.

That's at least 1.5mil in savings, minus Tuohy at whatever he's been offered, can't be more than 500k..

We have a spare mil in the kitty, are we going for Fyfe?! o_O

That's the only scenario I'd be happy with right about now.
