I'd like to see the GWS books. Their cap must be getting tight like the rest of us.
I suspect that GWS pay a guy to stand by the office door holding their books directly above a paper shredder 24 hours a day. If at any time AFL staff knock on the door he has to let go of the books to be able to open the door for them, inadvertently shredding all of the evidence...

Allegedly.

The bottom line is we have no decent draft picks, and we have no one of note coming to the club, while losing great servants like Enright and Bartel.
It does not make any sense whatsoever
Yep. Can't see us having another sustained period of success using the current approach

We lose Enright, Bartel, Kersten, Vardy, Clark, Caddy, Smedts and maybe Loners. All top 30 players.

Draw I'm not fussed on b/c we played Adel, GWS, and WB twice last year as it worked out.

He have no depth anymore and are a key inj away from missing the 8. As it was we were one game off 7th or one shot on the siren away from a straight sets exit.
Mate, so negative!

Firstly - Vardy, Clark & Smedts = Zero

Kersten was ordinary in my opinion and I wouldn't have played him either way in the Prelim. I think we have better players on our list instead of him too.

Enright - huge loss. No arguments there but at least he is assisting on the coaching side. Will be hard to replace.

Bartel - I'm a huge fan. Legend of the game.
I hope we also get him in some assistant role at the club. Big loss as well.

Lonergan - Sounds like he is staying on.

Caddy - Has been a great player at our club. I'm still skeptical of it happening but if it does I think we'll be alright with our midfield depth.

On a personal note I'm happy Motlop is still at our club. Yes, super inconsistent this year but no denying he has natural talent that can win games. Hopefully for him and our club 2017 is a huge year for him.

We just saved 300k with Bartel retiring.

Plus Boris, Kersten & Vards and now Smedts.

That's at least 1.5mil in savings, minus Tuohy at whatever he's been offered, can't be more than 500k..

We have a spare mil in the kitty, are we going for Fyfe?! o_O

That's the only scenario I'd be happy with right about now.
I want Dusty!

Then again they are bank rolled by the AFL which probably explains everything. In their lust to see them succeed the rules are slackened.

Have you actually digested the 2E trade?
Don't include smedts in it as he is worth peanuts..
Blues will be bottom 4, prob bottom 2 when they lose Gibbs, we will be top 6. Therefore 2E trade works out to around pick 40!
So we are going backwards?

So what have I missed over the last 30 odd pages?
Tuohy deal done:
Geelong give 2017 1st round (prob pick 15 ish) and Smedts for Tuohy and Carl 2017 2nd rnd (prob pick 25ish)

Deledio reportedly going to GWS GWS will trade a 1st rounder, Richmond to pay a large part of his salary.
Richmond want to trade pick 24 for Caddy, Geelong are likely to want more.

It is absolutely not the same thing. Lang hardly played a game and was dropped each time he did.
Ruggles was on a steep learning curve in his first season of seniors and played most of the season.
I didn't agree when Ruggles was dropped he had a couple of bad moments in the Hawthorn game but
had been excellent before that. I assumed he was carrying an injury.
You have to look at the season overall, comparing a change in one game and saying that covers my
earlier comment is silly.
There is a thing called logic and it should be used in any discussion.
The whole logic is silly. Ruggles is a plodder with little talent but works hard and filled a gap. Lang has weaknesses he needs fixing but has some serious talent in certain areas and plays a position we have a lot of talent in. If he can work on his weaknesses he will be a level or two or three above ruggles.
