From the outside looking in I'm done.
We have officially lost the plot, from my point of view the back half of this year we were a 5-8 side, and on the slide.
Overpaying for everything we get (danger excluded), lack of development, terrible at the draft for last decade, inability to build on anything since 2012 and slowly wasting away till Scott and wells try and throw a Hail Mary in an attempt to buy a premiership. Makes me throw up.
If anyone out there can tell me buying a premiership and throwing away the future is as satisfying as build a density a la 2004-2011 is just lying and kidding themselves.
I thought you were better than that Geelong.
Just one year before our last flag Footscray were in 3 consecutive prelims, bottomed out, have a gun young list and a flag.
Pathetic pathetic pathetic.
For all those saying a downgraded pick is not a big deal, look at the quality difference over history of 10-20 compared to 20-30.
Scott is useless, wells best work has been blitz in the last decade (guthries dad anyway) and we are now a soft corporate club. The Arsenal of the AFL.
Scott isn't half the coach or teacher bomber was, our assistants are stale and wells would overpay at a 2$ shop and couldn't pick an apple off an apple tree.
The team is average, riding on the back of danger-wood.
Completely disfuntional forward line, dismal slow ball movement, with an inability to stop teams scoring quickly, st kilda, Carlton, Collingwood, even had massive periods of dominance against us this year and beat us because of it.
Lapses in effort, b grade performers, and a complete unknown of what type of side will turn up from week to week.
To many players just don't turn up, soft, soft, soft.
Sydney first quarter prelim was just pathetic, and the club thinks we are close?

Danger was a mistake, I'm saying it, great player but has put the club back 5-10 years as a consequence ala Judd. One man teams don't win premierships, hanging a hope on one player is just ridiculous. If he doesn't come the club after finishing 10th, might have really seen where they are at...below average and nothing coming through.

"Oh but we were one win away from a gf" some say, well if anyone seriously thinks we could have beating GWS, Footscray or the swans in the form they were in should be in a asylum, say hello to wells and Scott for me, I'm sure their eating their own feces or throwing it at each other.

I'm done Geelong, I hope you do well, let me know when you pull your finger out of your ass and take a good look in the mirror, I'll buy a membership again then.

Until then....
Will you come back as Porky in your next incarnation Bobby Boucher?

With all our outs and limited ins how are we struggling to pay enough to keep Longergan happy? Feels like there's something fishy going on.
Elaborate on your suspicions.
I have no idea why we do what we've done this trade period

That 2e trade is utterly stupid. No way he is worth a round one. Seriously does anyone think that is a good deal. We will be devoid of any class youngsters for 3 years

It's a straight swap........Smedts for Touhey. We won on that deal

It won't be both 24 & 27 involved in the deal - Quayle is reporting Cats want 24 and Tigers are only offering 27.
Starting to sounds like crap to me honestly.

If it was giving up just pick 24 it would have been done. Still a win for the Tigers.

Review: Looks pretty good to me.
Pick 6 - Prestia
Lids - Pick 15
Pick 24 - Caddy
Ty compo - Pick 27

I'm disappointed they've used 2017 draft picks for Tuohy, but it's done now.... or will be tomorrow.

I just hope they don't think that replacing Enright with Tuohy is going to solve everything.
We need run and we need youth in our defence, which is why IMO Thurlow, Bews and Kolodjashnij have to play down there for the majority if not all year.

If that means forcing out guys like Mackie then so be it.
Tuohy will provide run, and plenty of it.

And no-one can replace Enright.

I have no idea. It just seems strange that we're hearing talk that our salary cap is busting, despite losing guys like Bartel, Enright, Vardy, Kersten, Smedts, maybe Caddy, and only bringing in Tuohy. Would have thought salary cap wouldn't be an issue after all that.

I'm pretty baffled by the alleged salary cap issues.

Are we paying Motlop way more than anyone thinks? Have we handled the deals of Selwood, Danger, Hawkins, Motlop, Taylor, etc. badly and they are all being paid in bulk in 2017?

Because I can't understand if we are potentially moving on Caddy for $$$ as Quayle suggested yet were even fathoming the possibility of adding Deledio.

Also unsure how the cap was never a huge issue for us during our glory run yet is now.

If they are going to trade caddy for pick 27 or theirabouts then why the **** didn't they just do the Delideo swap in the first place? I'd rather lids than a second rounder.
Salary cap. Deledio earns as much as dangerfield. Can't fit him in. Although you would think they would of realised that from the start.

Tuohy deal done:
Geelong give 2017 1st round (prob pick 15 ish) and Smedts for Tuohy and Carl 2017 2nd rnd (prob pick 25ish)

Deledio reportedly going to GWS GWS will trade a 1st rounder, Richmond to pay a large part of his salary.
Richmond want to trade pick 24 for Caddy, Geelong are likely to want more.
More....hmmm.....they could throw in Miles.

EVERY Geelong fan knows 24 for Deledio is RIDICULOUS

every neutral fan knows it's ridiculous. Every richmond fan knows its ridiculous and too good to be true.

EVERYONE KNOWS.

Except Wells & Co. as it seems.

Wells is the only one willing to give a contracted gun 24 year old for a mid 20s pick, Wells is the only one who will accept crap from Freo.

If this trade goes through (which Emma Quayle believes will), then Wells, thank you for your 99 and 01 drafts... but get the f*ck out of our club. If this trade goes through it shows you have lost touch with the current land scape and have f*cked our club down the pisser.

Your draft picks have been mostly wrong and "reaches" of late with little success and you give up far to much for too little at the trade table where everybody else does not. We are not a charity.

If we trade Caddy for 24 or 27 - then get the f*k out

If Caddy wants to go just so he can be a big fish in a little pond at Richmond......let him go.
Only serves to confirm my opinion of him
He won't be a big fish. How is he going to get in the starting centre square with Cotchin, Martin and Prestia. Had more hope of doing it at geelong where we have no strong third mid.

By the way even for those who are assuming the Richmond trading 24 for Caddy thing is true doesn't mean it means we won't get a first rounder.

For example:
GWS get Geel 2017 1st rnd from Carlton for Marchbank Pickett etc
GWS trade their 2017 1st rnd (pick 14-18) to Richmond for Deledio, Richmond pay a heap of his salary
GWS trade pick 15 to Geelong, Richmond trade pick 24 and pick 27 to GWS and get pick 37 back. Geelong trade Caddy and pick 42 and 56 to GWS for 15 51 and 60.
GWS actually get an extra 147 points over 15 which is all they care about as 15 is just points for bids anyway, Richmond get their precious arguing point of a first rounder and Geelong get a first rounder and give up a minimal downgrade that they probably don't care about anyway.
If there was to be any sort of deal I suspect this is similar to what it would look like. Although judging by Wells comments today I doubt there will be a deal at all the club seems pretty happy to keep Josh.

Yes I'd much rather a Freo player than a late pick. Have always liked Barlow but Menegola and Scott Selwood probably play similar roles.
Bartel and Caddy both have the ability to play forward. None of those other players do.
Doubt Barlow will come here he would want a best 22 spot at a bottom club.
