I think Touhy and Deledio add a lot in terms of team balance. Enough to significantly improve our premiership chances.

Where as I see Lang and Caddy struggling to get used in their preferred roles. Both are inside mids and with Selwood x2, Danger, Menegola, Blicavs, Guthrie and eventually Cockatoo all with 3-4+ years....when's it gonna happen?

Both have upside, I get that, but neither have key roles worthy of their ability at the cats. We just need to make sure we get what they're worth if they are willing to leave.

Its a fair point. All players have areas that we could question. Id question Lang's pace... and Caddy's performance should be more at his stage.
I like both , could live with trading Lang but id prefer to trade for picks not other clubs departing players. Caddy would seem a better player if he played more on ball. Play Selwood more forward. Another reason to not need Lang.

Till this year , I think Duncan was doing well
Hopefully he and others can take that next step over the next couple of seasons they won't all become stars but we just need them to become consistent players. We have a handful of elite players but the drop in games and game to game of the other players cost us this year.

All our 2nd tier miss struggled, mainly because danger was so good and dominant. Not a bad thing but an issue, is like to see danger bring others into the game, but at the same time our 2nd tier mids need to impact games by themselves and not wait for danger or Selwood to get the ball first. I want to see the whole midfield group running and hunting in packs, as we did when we had Bartel, Ablett, Corey, Chappy, SJ, ling in the middle during 07-10.

Is that really true though? You've listed the 2007-2010 group at the bottom, when Ablett was every bit as dominant as Dangerfield if not better. Didn't stop an entire raft of midfielders all improving around him.

It could be a less palatable reason, they're perhaps not as good as we like to tell ourselves.
