Always amazed at the young men in footy today - they wanna play with their mates, they wanna be near the folks, they wanna be near the surf with their mates with Mum's dinner ready on the stove.

When they do play, they want game-time in a position they want, even if their form doesn't warrant. Crack the shits, look elsewhere, even when under contract.

FFS - grow up ya' little pricks and forge your own lives with the club that will teach and inspire you to be your best. The rest will still be around when it's over (which is sooner than you think).
Awesome post.

Plus of course, they can't have pressure put on them to perform, or to justify their salary, or anything like that. Perish the thought.

You're referring to a very small minority of the 800+ blokes on AFL lists.

14 for Mitchell. That is insanely good value. More great trade work from the Hawks. Another steal.
Very cheap IMO..
Might help us however as it sets a market for Mids.

Lids price of them asking such a high level falls compared to 14 for Mitchell.

Hard for RFC to ask for a Rd 1 when Titchell gets 14. Makes mid/late Rd2 all the more realistic.

Worth pick 34 but we'll probably have to settle for pick 42 given he's OOC and nominated Fremantle.

Doesn't bother me to be honest. Wells has a nice track record with picks 40+ recently. Dare I say it, a better record than he has with first rounders (read Smedts, Brown).

What do the Geelong fans on here see as the likely trade value for Kersten now he's indicated he's keen on coming over to the Dockers?? Not here to cause trouble, just trying to get a gauge on what the fans think is likely to happen.
You send pick 34 we send Kersten. It will done once you're sure of the compensation you'll get for Mayne

Are you talking about Kersten or Danger or both?

Getting rid of Sam Mitchell is no different to Geelong turfing out the likes of Johnson and Chapman, and unlike Geelong, Hawthorn will probably get something decent back for Mitchell and have also immediately filled his spot with another quality player 10 years his junior.

This post should be in the 3rd testament.

I think thats a little over blown... on the whole he has rarely got real early picks. Late R1's start to blend into the depth of draft and type. 40 is starting to stretch it but its a good draft this year for that range. I have played a draft game twice and been surprised at the players that were still a available post 50. And we all know , Wells love to pull a Hayball.

It's really quite amazing. Geelong gave up pick 16 for Henderson. Hawthorn give up 14 for Tom Mitchell.

One was a guy who had looked thoroughly mediocre at Carlton for years; the other a proven midfield gun and finals performer.

Totally different neither were our current best and fairest winner and the best player on our list.
